I now have my R1 visa to enter the States?
Answer:
There has been a lot in the news in the USA recently about abuse of the R-1 visa. If the immigration officer is doing his/her job properly expect to be asked questions. If you have nothing to hide you will have nothing to worry about. Your visa doesn't guarantee entry to the USA but you shouldn't have any real problems. Just be polite and answer exactly the questions asked and you will be trhough immigration in no time.
I don't know, but thank you for doing it the right way.
great , bye bye
It depends on the immigration officer and whether they are having a good day or not.
No. Of all the public servants in the USA, I have found the immigration officers you deal with face-to-face to be the most professional. I came in on a K-1 (fiance visa) almost six years ago. It was late at night and the officer looked tired. He looked at my visa, smiled and said "Congratulations. Welcome to the United States."
All you need to do is be organized enough so that you can get to all the paperwork you will need to present quickly when you get to the front of the line. They will appreciate that.
good job for doing it correctly.
