Can i get a job if i don't have a social security #?
now i'm looking for a summer job to help pay for college , but the problem is i don't have a social security #. do you know anyway how i can get a job?!
i need help really bad. :(

Find your nearest Social Security office and apply for a SS# card. As far as I remember, I don't think you pay for it.
The only jobs you might get are the ones where they'll pay you under the table.
You'll receive your official card in the mail, but they will give you something in the meantime until you get the card. I didn't get my card either until high school, when I applied for college.
You'll find that a Social Security card and number is required when you get out on your own and in the real world.

Oh, didn't know the whole story. Sorry. Can't help you there. I know the U.S., is the land of opportunity, but take the steps to become legal here. My tolerance of those who are not here legally is wearing thin.
The only way is to find a job that pays under the table so youre not on the books. Are you an illegal?
Yes, get a falsely generated number, or buy a fake, or borrow one. Or work under the table at a restaurant or something. Millions do it because our hypocritical govt. refuses to issue one.
Call the Social Security office and get a work permit. It takes the place of a SSN.
Have you considered becoming legal? If you have been here for years, finished school and have not gotten in trouble with the law, your case should be easier then if you hopped a fence.

you have to go through the system if you want to participate. but, most likely, no. you won't get a good job. just about everyone will want your social security card, without it they can't hire you. they will get into trouble if they do.
