else, i don't see why our own citizens shouldn't be favored for jobs over illegal or newly-easily-made-legal aliens. we deserve to get something for our taxes, so why not give ourselves jobs first?
and benefits too: they belong to us. if aliens do not pay taxes like you and i do, why should they get services?
why DO we pay taxes anyhow? to provide cushy dinners to politicians and legislators that must have a law put into place so that they READ the bills that they vote on?
They will try to get their hands on just about anything, but hopefully they will fail.
This doesn't surprise me one bit how they still want to challenge republicans and the American people. That shows you that the Demos are not even close to wanting to keep American laws. If they are for illegals, then you know that they are for breaking laws in our country.
I bet Reid is crying right now too and the rest of the gang. It is time to pressure our senators in our states to do what ever possible so they can to stop this immigration bill.
I am a liberal dem, and I am ashamed of my party. they have bowed to another special interest, that does not have the best interest of my country at heart, instead, it is trying to get rid of guilt feelings that educator or entertainer made them feel years ago. As a result, they will lose in 2008 and we will once again have a conservative republican majority and president that will brainwash the country with its brainwashing ideology.

hard working illegals do not know that if they wait patiently for 2 more years they will get better amnesty plan. and they will be larger in number ( estimated 30 million instead of current 16 million ). all they need to do is support Lou Dobbs to kill any immigration reform bill this year.

Don't they understand... that was the problem in the first place. A "Democrats Only" protection for illegal immigrants bill. Only I understood that in this bill that failed - they also were going to give once again the real amnesty to the employers, and businesses who were breaking the law by hiring illegals in the first place. That's who (those businesses, and employers) was pushing for this to go through so quickly.
Not to worry.The patriots have their second wind now,they have power and can sense the weakness of "those" people.Democrats are just giving lip service to the frustrated losers.The steamroller effect of the anti illegal population will roll them down in the end.The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
