Can you get Japanese citizenship through marriage if you live abroad?

I have been married to a Japanese citizen for ten years but we live in the US. Is it possible for me to apply for citizenship/naturalization in Japan if I have no intention of living there any time soon?

Answer:
It would appear not...one of the requirements is living in Japan.
