What is the required time for one who has a visitor's visa to get married to a US citizen?

I understand that it is not advisable for one to get married under a month of being in the US

Answer:
That requires a K-1 (fiance visa) NOT a visitors visa.

With a K-1 visa the individual has 90 days after entering the USA toget married, otherwise they are out of status and deportable.

No legally mandated time line.

If you are trying to plan by delaying...it might be tough. Immigration officers are trained and can judge/sense -most of the times- when people are lying.

At the interview- for green card- you will be asked various question -various ways- about how you met, when you decide to get married and decided to get married.

Do not count on number of days to get married after arriving as way to circumvent the system or to avoid getting caught.

If you marriage is otherwise genuine and you just got luck and met someone, go ahead and get married.

Otherwise, Good luck!!
