Yes. We need to help the third world develop their local economies in environmentally sustainable ways. When they have pride in their land, and hope for their future, they won't need to come and become a part of the highly industrialized and unsustainable western culture. At the same time, we in the western world need to seek new ways to maintain our high standard of living without the monumental resource costs and pollutant levels that we are currently seeing.

I have asked my self the same thing. People need to stop breeding too, every new baby and every new emigrant become one more part of the worlds most wasteful consumers. Consumers produce CO2. A person cannot consume and not produce CO2 from carbon based fuels.

Kyoto Accord was a stupid idea, that does little to solve the problems of the world.what needs to be done is population control.. but no one is man enough to get on a podium and say that,,,,,,it is too easy to blame energy consumption.no matter what we do as far as greenhouse gas control even if we reduced emisions by 50 percent if population growth outpaces emission reductions then it is still a lost cause.. the only benefit is it will be a slower death....
