Is an Australian who is living in Canada on a holiday working visa entitled to health care?
Answer:
Health care is provincial, and every province will have its own rules regarding it. In BC, you are not eligible for the first three months after your arrival, including whatever part of the month you first arrived (i.e. if you arrived January 20th, they'd count January, February, March, and you'd be eligible for health care April1st). You would be advised to purchase travel insurance for that time. If you are working, your employer will usually pay for health care benefits, and you should check with your human resources officer to see if anything has been done about that. If your health care is not paid by an employer, you should pay your own premiums, especially since provincial health care premiums will be much lower than private insurance. Good luck.
if you need health care, just come to america illegally. they are giving it to illegal wet!backs free. and i don't care if i get reported again. i'll just get my 8th account started. i had pics off family dating back to the 1800's that was wiped out. damn illegal dogs.
I am saying no because newly landed immigrants who have permanent resident status are not covered by health insurance until 3 months of residency. I suggest you purchase your own travel medical insurance.**
yes, you may apply for and receive health care if you have a working visa. But you do have to apply for it, you can't just show them your papers. Check with Health Canada,
Yes,if you working you will be entitled to.You will have to apply in your local OHIP office
Yes, at least one would think so. But I do recall pulling off info from the ninemsn health that indicated that no matter where one was from - they should consider getting travel medical insurance just in case they had to be life-flighted back to their home countries for medical care and treatment.
