Does this sound like a good amendment to the immigration bill? Any ideas on why some Republicans voted "no"?

Answer:
Republicans believe there are not enough workers in America so they won't take any bill that doesn't let in everyone.

There are worker shortages in California for farming. They scared out americans with the cheap labor to begin with.

This argument is used with h1b visas to hurt engineering and computer fields as well.
Sounds better! So do the rest get in line or are they deported?
Republicans supporting amnesty are pandering to corporations who use wet backs for slave labor.
What part of the word NO as in No Illegal Alien Left Behind Act don't you understand?

Not a bad idea.

I think we are in a time of war, we lock down the borders... no more crazies coming over to start trouble.

And I don't want to hear the "but America started that way"... blah blah blah... yes, but now we are in a time of crisis and terrorism. Enough is enough.

It's the d*mn two party system and it won't change until we get a more diverse grouop of individuals who want to work for Americans instead of against them.
There are not enough young workers in this country to compete with China, Indonesia and the like. We have record deficits and more retirees than we can pay for. Our standard of living will drop if we don't get more workers. Our taxes will go up and our Social Security system will collapse without foriegn workers. The Republicans have more to gain from this bill than the Democrats, because the Democratic party is home to many who actually will have to compete with unskilled and illeterate foriegners. The Republicans who oppose the bill, for the most part, do so because they are mean spirited and small minded people.
