Basically what they are looking for is ties to your country. Provide papers from your employer, show ownership of property. Ask for an invitation letter from the people you are visiting in th US clearly stating the purpose of your visit. If you have family - spouse, children - in India not traveling with you helps too.
Other than that just say why you are visiting, and have exact dates maybe even airline reservation. Once you here make sure you have a return ticket, the immigration officer might want too see that, and ultimately they are the one in the airport deciding whether to let you in or not.
