Isn't thinks outrageous?

I'm 17 years old and came to the U.S. from Eastern Europe almost 7 years ago. I came with my mom and my dad, who came with a work contract, but when we arrived the "employer" didn't give my dad a job anymore and he just got employed elsewhere and we went on with our lives. Last summer my parents went to the immigration to get our citizenship and they said what we did wasn't right, etc. But we all received our greencards a year after arrival. Now my parents are going back to the immigration for a hearting where they will decide if we can become CITIZENS or GET DEPORTED. My parents payed all taxes, committed no crimes and worked 3 jobs at start, and now 2, and also purchased a house last year. Do you think is RIGHT to get deported for THEIR MISTAKE?IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE GREENCARDS TAKEN AWAY?

Answer:
Well I'd say thats a fine example for much needed "reform" on the immigration debate. The system is broken and it does anger me that the law abiding ones are getting the shaft while blatent illegals seem to get the green light.
I think legally wasn't supposed to do that, but I don't see any reason you all shouldn't get your citizenship.
It sucks but the terrorists have changed a lot of those laws.
I am sure it is possible, though it seems grossly unfair. I would certainly advise your parents to have a very good immigration lawyer on their side. It is worth the expense.

Good luck, I hope they prevail.
I don't know the legal answer but your family sounds to me like they are more upstanding than the typical American family and I hope you all get to stay.
If it's immigrations fault and they deny citizenship, get a lawyer and appeal. If you have already gotten green cards though, I don't think you should have any problem.
your parents should have gone to immigration right away and informed them as to what happened. not wait 6 years to do so.
i know you will not like this answer but it's the truth.
and yes it is possible that they will take away your green cards.
your father snuck your family in with false documents. if your father had a "contract" then he had no employer.

when will you people learn that you have to do things by the law in order to come to America.
oh my gosh that so awful i feel so sorry for your situation ..i say it isnt right at all its absolutely dispecable but unfortunately it is possible to revokeyour green cards and deport you,my advice is dont go alone to the hearing, ask for more time ,consult a tough attorney who will defend your rights...its their mistake yes but they have the power, give them a tough fight,go with a lawyer to the hearing and fight...
i wish you luck as this is a horible injustice...
good luck to you
Sometimes technicalities like that can be ridiculous. Hope you guys get it worked out, good luck at the hearing.
Unfortunately, when your father changed jobs (just went on with our lives) hes irresponsibility to amend his work contract voided his agreement with the US government. He basically turned you and the rest of your family into criminals.

No I dont think you have a case. Sorry.
Life isn't fair... Now that the illegals have marched in our streets & disrespected our flag, Americans are fed up & are trying to put a stop to illegal immigration. Although your parents seem to be hard workers, they still made the mistake of over-staying their welcome & years later are now about to pay the price. The law is the law & I really feel for your situation, but if the U.S. overlooked everyones mistake, we would never be able to clean up this mess of illegal immigration. All I can say is just pray to God that someone will sympathize with your family during their hearing.
that's crazy and sad
BTW tylergirl
check your mail
thats the u.s. for you.with bush in office he can take your life away and it would be legal
My advice is to hire a competent immigration lawyer. I felt bad for you, until the last line of your post that says we are all immigrants.

I am NOT an immigrant. I never lived anywhere but the USA, so I couldn't possibly have emigrated here. What my parents, grandparents, cousins, uncles, or whomever did 50 years ago isn't the person who I am now (BTW my family all came through the proper legal channels at the time of their arrivals.)

I felt sorry for you until you started spewing the hate.
