I have filed for naturalization process and I've been waiting for over 1.5 years. What can I do?
Answer:
Sorry to say, but it does take a while, and now with everyone jumping through their rear ends to try to get millions of illegal immigrants legal status, it'll take even longer for those of you doing it the right way.
I paid for my ex mother-in-law's citizenship and it took about two years to go through. She was 75 years old and had been in this country legally for over 35 years as the spouse/widow of an American soldier.
Keep the faith brother, be patient and thank you for serving our country. If you don't hear something soon, contact your congressman with a copy of your application and a copy of your DD-214 and ask if he can intervene on your behalf. That to me would be a lot more beneficial to this country than trying to push the Z-Visa program.
The red tape is very very very long my friend. All I can say is check periodically (by going to your nearest immigrations center, they used to call themselves INS but I know they have a different name now). If you don't check, nobody will. I had my case delayed for about a year because the person who was handling my case left the agency and for months nobody touched that worker's caseload. So basically you have to keep going and asking them your status ... eventually your turn will come. Good luck.
this story is so sad. IT is kind of like my aunt who was not in the army but has been waiting six years. MY entire family are legal citizens who came here legally.
I think the best thing to do is to get rid of the illegals who are flooding the system.
Good luck.
