Let's think about that. The key word in your quote is "WAS".
"Was" means how things were before. Land owners change for many reasons including war, purchase, and simply a claim. If you are speaking of Mexico losing land or even the Indians then obviously there were good and bad things that happened in the past to achieve this. Do you think the land should be given back? If you do, then purchase it yourself and give it back to whomever you wish. Ahhhh.most likely this is absurd right? Of COURSE it is. You need to understand that the land is no longer owned by the previous owners. Just like if you buy a car.after that you have NO rights to it. Well, the United States OWNS the car now. Look at it that way and maybe you will understand it better.

Many people don't know that Eisenhower actually had to deal with the same problem while he was in office. He simply enforced the law, and rounded them up and put them in jail. Of course he could never have gotten all of them, but the ones that were not jailed up were too afraid to stay and fled back to Mexico. Ike then just dumped the illegals back in Mexico, but far away from the border.

How can we stop it? We can't. Mexico is not a hip place. USA is. They're gonna get here one way or the other.

It isn't okay. However, it's politics as usual. Nobody wants to upset anyone and loose a vote. I say we hire more border agents and actually support them. We also need to invest in some technology that will alert them when someone crosses the border. A fence ain't gonna keep nobody out. They need to be rounded up and shipped back home. It can be done and indeed it was done during WWII. I think we need to elect leaders who can make a decision and stick by it. Either stand on this side of the fence or the other, quit straddling it. Well, that's about all I got to say about that.

This invasion can be stopped very easy, with control of our borders and ports, and enforcement of all of our immigration laws. The push to welcome these law breakers, comes from big business, and the nuts in Washington wanting votes.

You are right when saying that Immigration in the US is a mess, but you are wrong when thinking that illegals immigrant prefer to get an amnesty than one day in court.
Let me tell you this: There are NO LAWS that allow the immigrants willing to do the dirtiest and heaviest jobs to get legalized before coming to the US, but THERE ARE plenty of jobs for them. That's why immigration laws are a COMPLETELY mess.
The US has to do what is really convenient for their people. I really support any decision that the government take in this issue even if it were necessary to deport every illegal, but it doesn't work, take it for sure that if those workers wouldn't be necessary for the country, they would have been deported many many years ago.
But politicians want always someone to blame for all their errors and bad decisions, and sadly many Americans believe them.
I've seen in Y/A many valid arguments of people that agree with a comprehensive immigration reform but no one want to understand them. I hope you at least get a little of this words.
You'd have to cut off the incentive to invade. That's jobs. The enforcement solution - if you prefer an enforcement-only solution - would be to crack down on employers of illegals.
Contact your senators and let them know you will not be blacked male into exchanging borders protection for amnesty for illegals that clearly broke law after law.

I would say, if you are not native American descendant your ancestors also came to this country looking for a better future for their family. that is what most of the immigrants do when coming here. there are some that come here running away of the justice . I also agree that crossing the border illegal is not a solution but at least a working permit should be implemented, with background checking included,to make employers only hire legal people. then, when it becomes easier to enter the country legally they should put in jail the ones that cross the border
about the jobs that they are taking, not many of you will go to pick up oranges. if you are good in what you are doing no one will take your job. If they are as good as you, or better then you better work harder and if possible learn Spanish.

I can't believe that someone would actually say that all illegal immigrants do is play the race card and commit crimes! The truth is that they are doing jobs that many of us US citizens wouldn't do because we think we are "too good". I don't see anyone breaking down the doors at these factories to sit down at a sewing machine, or storming the farms to do manual labor all day long for less than minimum wage. I think that many have no idea just how valuable illegal immigrants are to the United States. They aren't using our medical care like many say because they are afraid of getting sent home, they aren't collecting welfare like the lazy US citizens do because they aren't allowed to...no...they are working for the very little they have.
It's the illegal immigrants, AND the US citizens that help them, that don't need to work these jobs that are causing the problems.
your viewpoint is ok but the problem is that no court is going to hear from 12 million different case to convict these people, and 2, 12 million people can't be deported, it would be impossible. the governmnet might as well do something, like the reform bill that will be passed soon.
