Will a drink driving offence affect my working visa to canada?

Answer:
Canada treats DUI convictions very seriously.
You will need to be honest about it as if they find out later you will be deported. When you apply for the visa make sure you have all the court records from your conviction and anything you have to prove you are no longer a risk. If your conviction was some time ago your clean record since will be a help, it will be much more difficult if your offence was recent. Your decision to totally give up drinking after the sobering fact of your conviction may help. If the conviction didn't push you to this decision before now, this might be a good time to think about it, the Canadians won't know how long you have been stone cold sober.
I not sure but I know for a fact that if your here illegally you can drive with out ins. and drive.lic and you can vote too and still be illeaglly and if caut they ll let you go even if your drunk and they still want more right welcome to are broken country
No, its only a motoring offence. But you will not be able to drive over there because you do not have a driving licence.
If you have the DUI or DWI from before attempting to enter the country, the chances are quite high that you will be turned away at the border (better than 75 percent, actually). Especially if the offense has occurred in the last five years.

If your work visa requires that you be able to drive while in Canada, they might not grant it since you have the record.

If you are already in the country, and your visa requires you to have a clean driving record, you are in violation of your terms of visa and can be deported immediately (worst case). Talk to your employer; they may be able to do something for you from their end.

And stay off the bottle. It isn't worth your career, from how worried you sound.
