Yes I do agree with it.
There are other states and counties that are trying to push for that law.The only people it will hurt is the property owners.Here again,I know several property owners that will only rent to them because they are the only ones who can come up with the security deposit and 1st months rent and they pay on time.The going rate for rent in Providence now is 800usd and up.

i agree. but i think one of the problems people bring up with this law is...now they are saying that the average landlord must have specialized training to identify the proper documentation. it's essentially placing the landlord in the same position as a bar bouncer, or a policeman. those people have traing to recognize what's fake and what's real. and i think some landlords are nervous that they will be held accountable for something they aren't able to do.
on the other hand, i think some people will go on renting to illegals and then say, "well, i didn't know the documents were fake!!!" and whether this is true or not, no one will really know.

i'd like to see how many of these landlords were stuck w/o tennants and end up losing their homes/buildings to foreclosures. I'd like to see the numbers in a couple of months when they'll be lowering rents and requirements to get renters in. just a thought u know.
