Wow, what a load of spiteful cr@p you've received. From your use of language, I'm fairly sure that you are actually a Brit yourself, something other answerers obviously missed in their fit of fury.
The first answer was basically right. The UK person needs to demonstrate that they can support and accommodate their fiance/spouse without needing public help (benefits, etc). They can either apply for a fiance visa to come and marry in the UK, or marry abroad and apply for a spouse visa. If the person is already in the UK, they can apply to the Home Office for a Certificate of Approval for permission to get married - it would usually be refused.
After two years of marriage, they can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. If the marriage falls apart before then, they won't get it (but there are special rules for cases of proven domestic violence).

they have a income that can support them and you.
have a house and a place for you to live.
have a valid marriage certificate that is rechognised in UK.
and about a thousand other things.
you have to prove you will contribute
as little as possible to the british way of life
So why do you want to live in the U.K.? What is wrong with your own land.
And if you do move to the U.K. will you start marching and wanting to change everything in England to be like it was back home. Why not just stay home and fix your own mistakes. I think the U.K. is about sick to death of all the newcomers.

im really fed up with people coming here and then wanting the country to change to what they want or believe.
this countrys mistake is to be too liberal and allow minorities to have a bigger say than the majority and it is now causing huge problems that the politicians refuse to acknowledge for fear of being called racist.
