ok i asked a question the other day and it got answered well i am a US citizen Wife is french citizen married in france but she is here on an L1-A visa. she wants to work elswhere. The answer i recieved was that we have to file a I-485, I-130, and an I-765 that will let her stay here and work elswhere and obtain citizenship. and yes we do have a child together born in france. OK THIS IS THE QUESTION. She quit her job today giving a 3 week notice. What can i do now? File those 3 forms that i talked about? can i just file the I-765 to get it going so she can work? what is the turn around time on some of this stuff?? it says on the I-765 that nonimmigrant authorized to be employed with a specific employer under 8cfr274a.12(12) cant use this form. does that apply to her? she needs a new job period. and she needs to stay. What is the solution step by step. we suck at this immigration thing

You probably understand that she is now in violation of her status.
You cannot file the I-765 emp. auth. app. indepenently. Her eligibility for the work auth. card derives from a pending green card (I-485) application. So you need to file an I-130 petition. She concurrently files an I-485 application for permanent residency and an applicaton for work authorization (I-765). Work auth. will take approximately 2-3 months at which time she'll be able to work where she wishes.
Finally, you should discuss your specific situaiton with an attorney.
As soon as you quit job on L1 the L1 status is no longer valid. It is employer specific. You should apply with the proper docs yesterday and get a competent immigration attorney involved.
She should not be quitting the job without filing for adjustment of status.
