How do i go about changing my name?

Answer:
Many people and sources will tell you to just start using another name on everything, but this isn't true.

You have to get a lawyer to go to court and petition the court who will make sure you aren't running from the law or avoiding paying your bills.

You have to give a good reason to want to change your name. The court order if signed by the judge, will be your new "birth certificate", so you can change your name at DMV, Social Security, and all other important documents, EXCEPT your original birth certificate. But your new name is considered fully legal, once signed by a judge.

It costs about two to three hundred dollars to do this, and is done usually by a lawyer dealing in general or family, (domestic) law.
If you are a US citizen, you petition the court. Call the court clerk, you may get a helpful one.
By deed pole.

I was hung over when I did it this morning, and am regretting it as I sober up after a big lunch
In the Uk you can just call yourself anything that you like legally thats ok but if you want to have that name on the electorial register then you must change your name by deed pole which cost around £25 and you have to go to your local town hall where they will have your name petitioned for 1 month so that if anyone wants to object then they can.
You can use any name you want provided you are not trying to defraud people. One way is to place a "middle" name in your name, the more or less gradually stop using your first name. Or you can simply alter the spelling of the last name, placing the original in parentheses. You can petition the court, and go through "legal" channels. My daughter did that, and it was fairly simple and not too expensive 20 years ago when she did it.
Go back to mexico and do it. No go to this place called Immigration and Customs Enforcement. All the necesarry forms are there.
you can change your name to whatever you like as long as it is not for an unlawful purpose, you must inform everybody you do business with of this change, IE all government departments, tax, dhss, dvla, banks, credit card companies, doctors, as long as you let everyone know there is no problem.
Firstly check online that nobody else is using that name then you can register it by deed poll I think most of the popular names are already in use,try something unusual like Pautamalanky I don`t think anyone else will be called that.
you go to see a solicitor and ask them to change your name by deed pole and you sign the change of name deeds and use your new name from then on
\in the UK - go to a Commisioner of Oaths and he will do it by Deed Poll - I know because my step father did it for me.
