OOoooh at last someone speaks the truth!!! All this chit chat is not about illegality anymore, it's about people's skin color. I have a friend who asked a question here on yahoo!answers and who's been told that it was "back to sprucing the old mud hut" for her, simply because her avatar was dark skinned! Turns out she is from France and has never even been to Africa! I wish people would just stick to the issue and not use it as a mean to spread their racial hatred and stereotypes. We all know there are illegal immigrants, but why focus on just one nationality or category? This is just very wrong!
Are they entering the country by the millions illegally?
I don't know the answer but I do not that it is not too easy to walk here from the UK, Ireland, Russia, Latvia, etc, etc.

Most of the UK, Ireland, Russian and Latvian Illegals you know have one major difference. They originally came here legally on a visa that has now expired. The bleeding on the border of Mexico needs to stop, there's far too many coming, so many, that in another 10 years our country won't even resemble what it used to. I'm all for legal immigration, but the illegals must go! Period!
Mexicans want EVERYTHING in Spanish even though we speak ENGLISH in America!! Brits and Canadians don't need translators to buy a pack of gum at a package store.

We come down hard on Mexico. The majority of our illegal immigrants are mexican. They let just anyone through at the border, and there really is no regulation.
And then, these SCUM march through our streets, waving THEIR flag, and DEMAND benefits from a country that isn't even theirs (I don't care WHAT La Raza tries to tell them. SOUTH of the Texas border is theirs, NOT north). Do you know what WE do? We give it to them.
I know that if our votes really mattered, they would be OUT OF HERE, because MOST of the American public is tired of paying for them. I know that I am.
So, your illegal friends are a problem, yes. When you look at the bigger picture, though, it's the Mexicans who are bleeding through the border and are causing the problems, therefore, you're going to hear more about them than any other illegal immigrating ethnic group.
I don't see too many illegals from the UK, Ireland, Russia & Latvia, marching down the street waving the flag of their mother country.
Their situation is different in that they try to assimilate our culture, not demand that we change our culture to suit their needs.

Yes, we get just as ticked off about your "friends" from Uk, Ireland, Russia, Latvia, etc.. if they are here illegally. The reason you see a proponderance of complaints about illegal immigrants from Mexico is because the bulk of our illegal immigrants here in the US are from Mexico. And interestingly enough, most of Mexico's illegal immigrants are from Central and South America, and therefore those are the ones that the citizens of Mexico complain the most about.
The bigger problem that we complain about, is the fact that our Southern Border is so insecure, that we literally have hundreds to thousands of illegal crossers a day between California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas and this posses not only the social problems that go with the influx of people, but the National Security aspect of the potential for terrorists to enter through that vulnerable border.
Chances are that at least some of your "friends" from other countries entered the US through Mexico or Canada if the didn't originally get here on a student visa or tourist visa. (Yes we have a security problem from our Northern Border as well, but not quite as bad as the southern border.
White has nothing to do with it, as far as speaking spanish, I don't care if a Mexican chooses to speak Spanish till the cows come home, but when he wants to become an American, he should learn English, since it has been the "Unofficial Language" of the United States since it's creation in 1776. For those Mexicans here on a tourist visa, or temporary work visa or any other form of legal entry that implies they are going to return to their homeland, I'll try my best to accomodate their language difficulties and wish them well.
If they are Mexican and intend to remain Mexican, it would be very narrow minded to expect them to be proficient in our language. I've been to Italy, France, Phillipines, Japan and Korea and tried to learn enough of each language while I was there, so that the citizens of that country knew that I was making a reasonable effort to respect their country and their culture but wasa in no way fluent in any of those languages and I expect similar effort from guests in our country.
A year ago in May was when the Demand was put on the American people by the people from Mexico. Not from Europe, or the any other place...that is not to say that we don't feel the same way..but when that demand was put on the American people that is when alot of this started. It has NOTHING to do with the color of their skin that is crazy and maybe you should look up some news and see where things started and why. Are there some crazy people out there that do base it on their skin probably..but most of us that isn't the case its about Illegals period..and most of the yelling has been from the people on the southern border.

I live a half hour away from you (in RI ) and I have a feeling it's a combination of all three. I see people defending other illegal immigrants,just to bash Mexicans.And they will always tell you it's because they are in the majority and they refuse to learn English and blablabla. My best friend is a citizen and from a South American country and still doesn't speak English properly. Does the fact that he's blond with blue eyes make a difference ?
FYI: In Southern New England we have every type of immigrant,even Sri-Lankans and Afghanis.
I don't care where you are from...if someone is from...if they are illegal then they broke the law. It does not matter what color their skin is. My only interest in their "different situation" is if they are illegal are legal.
In Boston you get more european people while in CA we get more asian and mexican people. It's just a fact of location not race.
