What is the interview process like for getting my new husband a green card? Any suggestions?

My husband is from Australia and we are in the process of petitioning to get him a greencard. He came over for college (was not illegal). We have started saving things from our wedding and photo albums that show us being in a relationship (can see us change over time). We are wondering what the interview process is like and if there is anything more we can (or should) do to show that this is a legitimate marriage and not a scam to get him citizenship.

Answer:
Hi Sherrie,
I'm a fellow aussie. Immigrated here to the US after marriage to my US hubby.
As others have said, gather together all that you have to show that the marriage is bonafide. I immigrated via a visa so I don't have direct experience with the interview itself.
You can find experiences at an immigration forum that I go to regularly. Great for info and support. www.familybasedimmigration.com...

All the best to you and hubby
Save any evidence you can of your relationship.Like pictures together, emails to each-other your phone bill showing you call him.On the interview it self they are going to ask you personal questions to see how well you know each-other.Some of them really stupid. What is his favorite color, his grandmother name, how did you meet etc.Me and my husband pass thru that. They asked me what color is his toothbrush. After living with him for over 6 years I got it wrong...Just be calm and if you don't know something don't lie to them, say that you don't know
Make sure you know the most minute detail of your husband's life. They even ask questions about what your husband's favorite color is, what kind of facial cleanser/ aftershave he uses, what size he is, etc. Make sure your husband knows these little details about you as well.

However, you may even get lucky and the person may just look at your wedding photos, ask a few questions, and approve. It really depends on the interviewer you get.
if it is legitimate you have nothing to worry about, they'll know what to ask to validate your claim quickly, most of the interviewing officers are like profilers and can read people very well, especially if your truthful.
