Some of you think that there is no greater crime then this, or at least you act like you think so. Well there are a lot worse crimes, that most of you have done like drugs, underage drinking or smoking, yet you weren't caught and you were not punished for it. So why should the people who try to make their lives better be punished for it?

A lot of the "worse crimes" are what illegal immigrants commit. If they aren't afraid to break the law to get into the country they aren't afraid to sell drugs, which is the main reason the majority of them move to the US.

Get a grip! Seal the border, this is not impossible, just kill anyone trying to cross. Deport the illegals, this is not impossible, either. History has shown that huge numbers of people, in the millions, can be moved in a relatively short amount of time. Once you have closed the border and deported the illegals, then you can decide on a rational scheme to decide who can become an American and when. Try asking a non-b.s. question next time, moron!
Yes, they will self deport because they are not legal citizens and don't want to be here in the USA to begin with. They only want the money and then they send it back home.
Many of them go on to commit many more crimes than just crossing the border..they go onto making citizens sick with TB and Hepatitis, and then others commit ID theft and destroy peoples lives. Then others take away jobs that US citizens want.

There are more heinous crimes than this but many are commited by Illegals. We cannot afford this large an influx of people at once and the tide that will follow.Yes they can be deported if we all worked together. I think if they keep using the "criminal" argument than we should amend all the driving laws saying if your ever caught speeding you will get your license revoked forever...makes about as much sense as their argument
Most of the illegals in the US are economic refuges. Depriving them of the economic encentive to be here - by cracing down on the law-breaking employers who exploit them - will not only cause many of them to leave, but will discourage others from coming.
Those who remain - long-time illegals who have 'put down roots,' undocumented political refugees, criminals fleeing justice in thier homelands, legal immigrants that havef fallen behind on thier paper work, and hostile infiltraitors (like terrorists) - can be dealt with apropriately without a massive increase in resources devoted to immigration services.
It's the vast number of ecconomic refugees that make policing immigrants impractical now.
They should be punished because they are breaking the laws!! Why should someone who has been living in the US illegally for 10 years (as an example) get off so easily?? So if I stole a car everyday for 10 years, that is ok???? I just have to pay a $5000 fine!! Don't think so!!
Also, do you really think that EVERY illegal is going to come forward and pay the $5000 fine???
You do realize that MILLIONS of other immigrants came to the US to "make better lives" went through the normal, legal process right??? Why can't these illegals???

1. If you walk to the front of the line and squeeze your way in, should those millions you just butted in front of just say...well he is there now?
2. There is a simple way to make them self-deport. It is a simple plan. You set a reasonable time line 6 months or 1 year...let's say 1 year. And today you announce this:
In one year:
All entitlement programs of any kind are cut off of anyone who is here illegally.
Anyone caught employing an illegal alien will be fined $25,000 for the first offense and $250,000 and 5 years for second.
Any illegal caught in the country after 1 year will be immediately deported and NEVER be allowed to legally enter this country.
....You streamline the legal process, and you revamp the socialist entitlement programs to REWARD people who better themselves (the current system punishes them) and many would go to work to fill most of the jobs vacated, and legal immigrants would fill the rest...PLUS WAGES WOULD GO UP ENHANCING THE ECONOMY!

I think the answer is to cut government assistance.I dont think Americansmind the illegals so much if they didnt live off of our tax money,once they come here and have an anchor baby,the child is a citizen and therefor the family qualifies for assistance.

Metro you really have a point in each statement you make about this issue, I like to add another thing too; the biggest crime start when the goverment tells your children that you can not do anything to them, I am not saying that you going to abuse your children but should it be a legal and fair thing to allow parents to raise the children in a positive way, not in here the moral is down a 100%, cause there's no way children are going to follow any good rules or behavior when the goverment punishes you for a lot of things, I have to say all of this because illegal inmigrants are being critized for everything, but people don't forget that when it comes to education, moral and good values, we do enforce that in our homes. OUCH.
Actually the cure is not so difficult it is just a hard one for Americans because we tend to be charitable. Cut off ALL government assistance and stop all employers from hiring with fines and penalties so large that no one would dare hire someone who is illegal along with penalties for landlords, it would be most effective trust me. I guarantee the problem would take care of itself in to time at all, however we are generally charitable people, even though that charity is running very thin, so we will attempt to fix the border and hunt down employers who are in violation of immigration laws and build a better mousetrap.

These illegals come here to rape our country and have no interest in becoming American. If they did, they would follow the immigration process like a lot of my co-workers who came here from India.
Illegals already place a huge burden on all of our social programs. Granting amnesty will guarantee the brankruptcy of every social program we have, including the public schools.
America can easily survive without these uneducated, illiterate, non-English speaking criminals. People like you always say "The illegals will do jobs that Americans won't." That is patently untrue. The correct statement is "The illegals will do jobs for wages that legal Americans can't."
To help your simple mind understand, a business can pay an illegal significantly lower wages, because the company doesn't have to pay payroll taxes, healthcare benefits, unemployment, etc. These costs are all mandatory for a legal citizen.
I am a very compassionate person and not racist. However, I love my country and will protect it at all costs. Real Americans love their country and the freedoms our forefathers died to protect.

You won't need to worry about amnesty because it is not going to happen. No one says every illegal is a drug dealling mass murderer. But until we close our borders and do proper background checks we will never catch the ones that are.
