What is the best solution for illegals?
On top of that, we have to build a wall to stop them from coming in.
Unfortunately, unless someone could come up with the best solution, they are here to stay.
Answer:
DEPORTATION
Make them legal.
Invade Mexico, take over the government, destory the Cartels, make new government in our image and plunder they're natural resources while improving the country. OH wait thats Iraq. But it would work, right?
There's a hole in the boat, what is the best solution? Stop the damn water from coming in man!
Putting a berlin wall type deal up at the border, and giving police the authority to deport all who are not documented.
i think we should deport the immigrants that are not doing anything, but the immigrants that are working and set up their life here should stay because they are working for their citizenship.
privatize the deportation. UPS could probably do it for half the price. Set up rapid courts, cut down on the time they are incarcerated. Two questions would be asked
1) proof of citizenship?
2) where to?
I've never done the math, but I think that the cost of deportation would be far less than all of the costs of strains of the U.S. subsidizing and paying for all the services they receive - medical, education, the costs of extra law enforcement, extra legislation, etc.
620$ million dollar? To the US government, that is pocket change, they make rounding errors larger than that. The US annual budget is about 1.2 trillion dollars. That is $1,200,000,000,000. Even if it cost much more, it is entirely possible to round them up and deport them back to their country. In a country based on laws, laws must be obeyed. It is the lack of enforcement of laws that has caused this problem and it needs to be fixed. $640 million dollars is poultry compared to the near $400 billion dollars that they have cost the country since 1996 in only social programs alone. Allow police to deport illegals that they find and stop them from coming across the border. It is possible and completely doable.
If we don't conquer their country we should shot them on site..
I am against illegal immigration but i somehow understand what they feel. I think Americans dont have any idea how hard it is to get a green card or maintain your legal status here. it would take years and lots of money just to process your application and sometimes after all that wait, nothing seems to work. No wonder lots of people given up hope and would just rather stay here illegally!
have you tried living in a 3rd world country where everything is hopeless? I guess if you are them, you will also think about crossing, well its easy to say no. As for the illegals, I believe they should be given a chance proven that they have a job, a good moral character and should go back in line waiting for their green cards at least 10-15 yrs but let them work legally and pay taxes and FINES just to be fair, for the others deport them. i think this is fair enough PUNISHMENT for them having to wait and pay back fines and taxes for breaking the law. Its like spending time in jail, you pay large fines and you wait(except that you are legal and identified now). I bet you most of these people doesn't really want to live here, they just want to work.
Or we can apply what other country's immigration policy like Dubai's, anyone can immigrate proven that they have a job with a legal employer and be petitioned, they can NOT become a citizen ever but can live in the country, cannot buy a property, be able work in the country, and be a legal resident only after 5 years. not a citizen, a citizen of course have special priveleges. That I believe will make it for anyone easier to come here LEGALLY and will decrease the illegal immigration.
What do you say?
The problem if illegal immigration is extremely complex and does not lend itself to simple solutions, so it won't be solved here. But here are a few thoughts:
Much of the poverty theat the illegal immigrants are trying to escape is a resultt of the shifting sands of globalization. Many American corporations moved their manufacturing operations to Mexico only to relocate them again to take advantage of cheaper labor markets around the globe. Young workers who had left the farms to work at these manufacturing facilities were thrown out of work and has nothing to fall back on for the support of their families. This is one of the reasons that they feel that it is only just that they cross the border to take advantage of the employment opportunities here in the States.
In many respects life is better for them when they cross the border. They usually find work and are able to send money home, but to do so, they have to live very close to the edge and miss their families, so they arrange for the families to cross over as well.
It doesn't work out so well for working people along the border. Mexicans can be made to work for low wages (sometimes below the legal minimum), are rarely paid overtime when they work more than 40 hours per week, and almost never get any fringe benefits. They will also work under conditions that most Americans would find unacceptable. It's a myth that Mexicans will do work that Americans won't, but they bring the going wages for many jobs below the minimum that we will work for. Worse yet, by establishing lower standards for these jobs, they pull the wages down for other lower tier jobs, nevermind benefits! This is also a factor in the growing numbers of families without health insurance.
No one really knows how many illegal immigrants there are in the U.S.. I hear so many estimates all over the range of possibilities that I suspect many are pulled out of thin air. But the number is large and growing larger, so some solution must be found.
The first step is to realize that the is no right solution. Rather, there is a range of courses of action to choose from. My approach would be to search for a path that will harm the fewest and/or benefit the most people, bearing in mind that good outcomes for legal citizens should take priority over benefits for the illegal population.
In order to slow the movement of people across the border, we must do two things: secure the border to the best of our ability and help to stimulate the economy of Mexico so that the temptation to cross over will be less.
Mexican citizens with a serious criminal history on either side of the border should be deported quickly with minimal process.
But what to do with the rest? That problem is bigger than I can adress even in a post that has becom as over-long as this one.
AND HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK WE TAX PAYERS PAY FOR ALL THE ILLEGALS THAT ARE HERE GETTING GOVERMENT HELP? WE NEED TO START SOME WHERE SEND THEM BACK BEFORE THE NUMBERS GET BIGGER. WORSE THEN THEY ARE NOW. WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR BORDERS BETTER JUST LIKE ANY OTHER COUNTRY.
