Top Eight Reasons NOT to Immigrate to Canada...is this true?

Top Eight Reasons NOT to Immigrate to Canada

8. Discriminatory and Dishonest Immigration
System.
Immigration to Canada is based on a point
system, obtained with
your education, qualifications and job
experience. Points are
good enough for immigration, but in Canada, they
are not good
enough to get a job in your field. Amazing, how
the credentials
that qualify you to come to Canada are the same
credentials that
don't qualify you for your profession in Canada.
The reason is,
Canada only wants immigrants to do the labor
jobs - pizza
delivery, driving taxis, factory work etc.

7. Out Of Control Cost Of Living.
From rent, to utility bills, to shopping, to
phone, internet and
cable bills, to gas, to car insurance, to eating
out, to
basically anything you have to pay for or buy,
the cost of living
in Canada has become astronomical. Recent
immigrants are
astonished as to how expensive everything is. It
is estimated
that compared to most countries around the
world, the cost of
living in Canada is on average five times
greater.

6. Health Care Crisis.
Practicing physicians in Canada are in a
shortage, 1 in 4
Canadians cannot get a family doctor. Canadian
doctors are
leaving to move permanently to the United
States. Statistics
Canada and the Canadian Medical Association both
have identified
that for every 1 American doctor that moves to
Canada, 19
(nineteen) Canadian doctors move to the United
States! Doctors in
Canada are overworked and underpaid, and there
is a cap on their
salaries.

5. Very High Taxes.
Yes, you have the GST, the PST, totaling 15%, on
practically
everything you purchase and many other taxes
taken out of our
weekly paycheck. You have to pay a whopping
amount to the
government, out of your hard earned salary, so
that the
government can turn around and give it to beer
drinking, hockey
watching welfare bums. Fair? It does not matter,
it's Canada.

4. Money Hungry Government.
Canadian Embassies around the world lie to
foreigners, painting
this picture that Canada is Utopia, because they
want them to
come to Canada. Why? Because foreigners bring
money! So after
being deceived, these foreigners come. They must
bring with them
at least $10,000. Canada has an immigration
quota of 250,000 per
year. So please do the math, 250,000 multiplied
by $10,000 each
equals a whopping 2.5 Billion dollars that
Canada gains from
immigrants every year.

3. No Culture.
Unlike almost every other country in the world,
Canada has no
culture. Actually American culture is what
dominates Canada. When
was the last time you had some 'Canadian' food?
There are no
Canadian traditions and there is no national
identity. What does
it even mean to call yourself a 'Canadian'. .
.nothing really.
People living in Canada, still identify
themselves with the
country they 'originally' came from.

2. Worst Weather.
Yes, Canada has the worst weather conditions of
any country in
the world. Freezing cold temperatures, snow,
ice, hail, winds,
storms etc. From the Prairie provinces to the
Maritimes, from the
Territories to southern Ontario, the weather is
so horrific and
disgusting that many Canadians leave Canada
simply because of
this reason alone.

1. No Jobs.
Yes, coast to coast, there are no jobs.
Immigrants are highly
qualified (MD's, PhD's, Lawyers, Engineers etc.)
but they are
driving taxi cabs, delivering pizza's or working
in factories.
Even people with bachelors degrees from Canadian
Universities
cannot find jobs after graduation. This is the
tragedy associated
with immigration to Canada. I feel sorry for
those immigrants who
are stuck in Canada for the rest of their lives.
It is indeed a
very sad and hopeless future.

Answer:
Have you ever been to Canada? If you have you obviously closed your eyes and put your fingers in your ears and screamed the entire time because you basically got everything wrong.
8. The immigration system in Canada is to make sure that people don’t come here expecting everything to improve immediately and end up on the street worse off then from where they came from.

7. Have you been to Saskatchewan? They have huge beautiful houses that are dirt cheap. Also I just bought a 30 acre house for $140, 000 CND in Alberta..Ya Alberta just outside of Calgary.one of the most expensive places in Canada.

6. Canada has one of the best health care systems in the world, and sure wait times can be long but its better than no health care.

5. Oh my God you must know absolutely nothing about Canada because everything in that point was wrong. First off the highest tax for GST and PST is 14% which is only in two provinces (Newfoundland and New Brunswick) and every province has a different amount of PST and in Alberta there is none so I only pay 6% in GST only. Also the taxes do not go just to help the less fortune but also to fund health care, and to help the economy.

4. Ya that’s all Canada wants is immigrants money, that’s why Canada allows thousands of refugees into our country and then gives them money and helps them find a job. Also that $10,000 goes back to them and that is only for Economic Immigrants, In Canada there are different levels of immigration.

3. That also could not be more wrong. Have you been to Quebec? Newfoundland and Labrador? Any of the Maritime Provinces? The parries? British Columbia? The North? Or have you ever experienced the Native cultures that have a profound effect on Canada. All of these places have a different culture. Then there is a unifying culture and it is called HOCKEY!

2. Well I partially agree with this, Canada can be very cold but not all of it and Canadians are tough and can stick it out. I know a woman from Lesotho (a country surrounded by South Africa) and when she came here she at first said that it was such lovely weather, well when winter came she was surprised that a country could be this cold but even she stuck it out and got used to it before the end of winter.

1. What are you talking about.there is a job shortage in Canada right now infact a McDonalds down the road from where I work is hiring for 12.50 an hour!! And I am a Canadian with a Bachelors of Education and a master’s degree in Political Science and a minor in History from the University of Alberta and I have a job and I finished school just over a year ago. If these highly qualified immigrants you are talking about that are driving taxis and delivering pizza's are in that position well I can only assume that they are there by their own choice because there are defiantly plenty of high paying jobs out there for them.

Canada is one of the best places to immigrate to and infact Canada has the highest per capita immigration rate in the world, so you may think that Canada is a bad place to immigrate to well some 265000 Canadians from last year alone would disagree with you.
My aunt and uncle emigrated to canada about 20 years ago, they are both qualified doctors and they both work as doctors.

Hope this helps a bit
99% true. The 1% is the Donair. It is kind of like a Gyro, but better, and I have only found them in eastern Canada.

Other than that, there is no reason to even visit.

Just kidding. Much of Canada is beautiful, and a great place to visit.

One key to point out on your list. Their health care system is a great thing to point out when people in this country want govt. controlled health care. IT IS A PATHETIC MESS. Not enough doctors, many with not enough skill. Part of that is that the average Canadian will go to the doctor with a sniffle because they have free health care...well not exactly free. I shudder to think of their gas prices. When ours was $1.29, theirs was $0.79...per liter.

xmachino...the dozens of Canadians you meet each year? I traveled through Canada for the summer two years in a row. If health care came up, they HATED IT! Not a few...95% of them hated it. It was absolutely out of this world on costs and the taxes there will eat you alive. High wages??? NOT!
Get real. I am repeating the things that Canadians hate about Canada.

They did have an observation that was rather disheartening at the time. They said that they were shocked at the President on the US. They said that if their highest leader (for those of you who do not know, that is the Queen of England), was to die, they would be sad. They felt that the majority of Americans would be celebrating if our President died, and with good reason. He had shamed the office of President...I was there in 1996 and 1997.

Steve...Canada-Soldiers??? Give that one a rest. Every soldier I met laughed at the fact that if there was a war, Canadians would kick back getting drunk until the fighting was over. Canada has no military.
No you're basically ranting about nothing.

8. Near as I can tell, you get upset that you aren't guarenteed a job of your choice in Canada once you get into the country. If you're actually qualified the jobs are there. Unfortunately, most immigrants seem to think Abudabu University should be considered the same as one in the country, as if they meet the same requirements.

7. Of course a modern country is more expensive than a3rd world backwater. Then again wages are higher, quit moaning.

6. Of the dozens of Canadians I meet yearly, none complain about Canadian health care. They all praise it, especially if they've dealt with American hospitals.

5. free health care, gee they expect you to pay for it.

4. If you honestly think having to prove 10k in assets to immigrate (which you keep) you are merely looking for a free hand out. They've blown more than this on services provided to you in the first year. Why should they pay for your travel?

3. Canada has a culture, your ethnic rants against beer swilling hockey watchers prove this. Anglo-American culture is a lot bigger than your little provincial culture. It is wider and more varied, it also isn't contained within narrow borders.

2. Move to Siberia, only an idiot picks a country at the tippy top of the globe than whines about the weather. What next "Egypt is it to hot?"

1. Good point, move back home. Soon as you leave that'd be one more job for a Canadian or a Canadien to keep it all bilingual.
Some of what you say may have some truth unfortunately, but it is exaggerated and a worst case scenario.

And if you can afford to get sick in the US then I'm happy for you. The people who go to the US to skip the queue in Canada are people who can afford to.

A lot of people condemn the programs set up in Scandinavian countries too, but they seem to be happy with them, and if you're not, then don't go there. They probably wouldn't want you anyway.

Canada, for all it's supposed warts is still one of the best countries in the world, so if our future is hopeless God help most of the rest of the world.

You have to be tough to take our winters, not some whining simpering pansy. Canadians have made some of the best soldiers and hockey players in the world. Just read about Vimy Ridge in WWI. Or ask the Dutch about Canadians.

Or how Canada just won all nine games at the World Cup Yeah.

And whether our social programs have problems or not, they were originally fought for by a God fearing Christian man who only wanted to help the less fortunate. Not like phony hypocrite Christians who say they follow Jesus but won't help anyone but themselves.

And by the way, which one of the Village People is Macho Man.
The only reason I wouldn't immigrate to Canada is their neighbours they seem to think they are the be all and end all of the world.
Yes
then dont migrate.simple...
Most of that is true...

Historically, we have always imposed taxes and levies on immigrants to make sure that we weren't flooded with impoverished Chinese people. Most people say black immigrant stereotypes aren't true, but look at the UK; as the immigration rate from Africa goes up, the crime rate spikes, eh?

Reasons 1, 2 and 3 are completely false. The rest are pretty much true.

1. "No jobs"

There are plenty of jobs; however, we REALLY don't want some "doctor" with a "degree" in "medicine" from woga-woga land or wherever. We need skilled labourers, we already have too many university graduates.

2. "Worst weather"

Actually, we have the best weather on earth. Go to British Columbia and you'll see that there are mild winters, mild summers, lots of sun and rain. Perfect for growing stuff.

3. "No culture"

Well well... Assuming your from the United States, our culture is based on KICKING YOUR @SS OVER AND OVER. You've send a grand total of nine invasion forces to try and take Canada, and each one has been slaughtered in turn.

And culture... Haven't you ever had poutine? Eh!

We have a very rich culture. Our history is littered with Trade wars, invasions, counter-invasions, hostilities between French-English people, bloody battles and heroic last stands.

Remnants of a previous era are still around; we are still loyal to the British, we still have "God Save the Queen" as our royal anthem, we still make hats out of bunnies and the French are STILL trying to take over the country and opress the English. That will never happen.

We still identify with the country we came from? Duh, you should! Its not like you're trying to completely forget your other country... Anyone who tries to do that isn't a Canadian. Me? I always remember my country; my Queen is on every coin eh!

Of course, I wouldn't expect you to know any of this. You actually sound like one of those ignorant yanks south of the border.

Ah yes, the Americans. Their drawling nasal tone, their racist attitudes, their greasy burgers and their tendancy to piss the world off... Perfect eh

AMERICAN culture?

Uh-huh... Involves oppressing African Americans, being openly hostile to other nations when you don't get what you want, invading soverign countries for no reason, overthrowing democratic governments just so you can have fruit trees, taking whatever you want without asking, your consumer, selfish culture which is spreading to other countries and your civil war over a barbaric issue such as slavery.

Oh, and you kill Natives to take their land, while Canada bought it. And to top it all of, you MAKE MOVIES about slaughtering Natives!

You aren't ashamed of massacring people to take their land, you GLORIFY it!

Seriously; I'd rather have NO culture than your selfish one.
