My husband and I both in our 30's would like to immigrate to new zealand we are both college graduate and we believed that migrating nto new zealand will open up the best opprtunities for us.

The best way to migrate to NZ is to log on to www.immi.gov.nz. In this website you will get all the information. You can apply on line. It will cost you around $1500. They have point system. 100 is the pool mark. If you have 100 point than you will be invited to apply for Permanent Residency. Overall processing will take 8 o 12 months.

If your country is eligible for Working Holiday visa, you take it and go to NZ. Find a job, mean time with the help of Migration agent apply for Permanent Residence.

You can also go to NZ on tourist visa, look for a job which is related to you field, if you can find one ask the employer to sponsor you. This way you can get work permit. After getting work permit, you can apply for Permanent Residence.
By plane I suppose. Boat might be acceptable if you live within close distance.
