Illegal immigration question. Who's responsibility?
Why should this be OUR responsibility?
Since Mexicans encompass a large majority of the illegal immigrant population, I'll use them as an example.
If we had detention centers throughout the U.S., say one per tri-state area, we could round them up and then make Mexico come and bus them home. They are MEXICAN CRIMINALS so why should WE front all the cost and effort?
The same would go for Cuba or Korea or wherever the heck. Let THEM ship 'em home.
Once they share some of the cost for a while, I bet they would HELP us build those fences around the border.

A better solution is to do sweeps all over the nation and fine all employers who have illegal employees.They did that here, in my border city, after the 1986 amnesty and smoked out a lot of illegal workers and employers were fined $1,500 per illegal.The illegals, left voluntarily, because they lost there jobs.
Apparently our political leaders can't figure this out! Maybe if Mexico is paying the bill, they'll be a little more proactive on keeping their people at home!
It isn't the getting them to Mexico that is the problem. It is the "round them up" part. We have rapists, murderers, and other dangerous criminals who are still wanted, and the police can't find all of them. After they find those criminals, then we can start finding the less serious criminals who are wanted.
What a great idea! But, they will just tell us "no".
Actually if we took away all of the incentives and rewards for them to come here they would simply leave at their own expense.
And since very few would come here illegally in the future our border patrol could easily handle it.
Virtually cost free to the taxpayers! Actually a net savings since companies would have to hire Americans who pay taxes and don't send all of their money to some other country. We would also save by not educating the entire world for free (it costs us taxpayers over $10,000 per student per year).
It is the responsibility of the US government to protect its borders! This was the downfall of the Roman empire and it will be ours as well.
I agree with you 10000%. I also feel that the whole southern border be totaly sealed with fences.And manned guard towers set at .50 cal range apart.
And anyone caught conducting conversations in public in ANY language other than English be fined $500.

they dont need our tax money. they just say they do. its not hard for them to do a little research and get people to deport one by one. they just want more money because they dont want to do it in the first place.
The responsibility lies on the companies that hire them and our government for not fining them. They are the reason Mexicans come here illegally in the first place...

I truely don't have the perfect solution. But I do feel if the government didn't make it so easy for them to get government assisted programs that financially make them stable then they would not be inclined to stay.

How proud you sound, just because you are American, and how good you feel when you say that other coutries need your stinky financial support, but the good thing about it is that we the poors, the less fourtunate don't have as many enemies that this country has, for being so nosy, and butt in all the time, my question to you is why do you have to call Mexicans Criminals?, how many criminals and weird people has your culture have? The responsibility is mixed.
Yes, it's the US government's responsibility to find and detain people illegally in the US. It's the home country's responsibility to send them home.
Why do (Mexicans) come here? To get jobs. Higher paying than in Mexico, but below minimum wage in the US. Someone hires them. The employer gets a cheaper worker who will not complain and rock the boat when the employer offers unsafe conditions, cruel hours, etc. American workers won't put up with such things. Corporations can hire the illegals, save money. Shouldn't THEY have to pay some fines? Aren't they responsible to check the potential employees legality to work in the US? If they don't, and do it willfully and knowingly, that should and must make the employer CRIMINALLY liable as well. If we jailed some of the illegal employers, you'd see this cracked down on in no time, and not through the government.
OTOH, some industries have become dependent upon cheap labor who makes no requirement for conditions (such as hours, breaks, safety, water), such as the produce industry. Americans must be willing to pay American wages for these things. That does not make the "cheating" employers rich because they have illegals cutting their costs, undercutting their honest competetors.
