History of Australian population?
Answer:
Summed up?
It had primitive people who didn't even have the decency to set up proper roads because their culture didn't do that (they moved around whenever they had used up the land for too long and gave it a chance to renew itself and gain new life). People from Holland came along.. thought it was too far away to be worth the effort and left. Then the British came. They were embarrased that the natives went around naked (with their wangles dangling and breasts drooping so they gave them free cloth to dress themselves (but they didn't realise that the natives didn't sew). They thought that because it was such a big island, so far away and not "settled" like jolly old England that the land was free for the taking and errected houses and made towns so that decent folk could come and live while they were taking care of bad people and some not so bad people.
It was a jail for the the criminals of England
