Immigration (legal) question ?

I submitted my fiancee's I-129f in April,I'm still waiting for the receipt. Will the rest of his paperwork be more expensive ? I know I probabaly won't receive the receipt until September.

Answer:
Are you working with an immigration lawyer?

I filed (for a K-1/I-129) in April as well, and we got a reciept already. You can go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.j...
for the updates, but unless you have the case number, you can't really check the update. But, my lawyer got the reciept within a week or too. I hope you the best. I am so stressed this won't go through by my wedding date!!
Yes
Maybe it will. But it might be cheaper.
No!
I have no idea what a 1-129f is,
Is it a some kind of visa, green card thing.
Does he still live in his Country, or is he in the United States?
If he's in the United States, don't they have to go back where they come from, and do it that way?
Im sorry I could'nt help.
Starting July 29th, USCIS will increase all their fees so whatever else you have to apply for, you should do it before that day.
The fees are due to go up, but if you ahve the money, find out what is left to file, then send it all - WITH a money order, and they will date stamp it, and they should only charge you the fees. (We did this when I applied for my ex-husbands paperwork) the lawyer sent everything in, and they stamped received on it, I can't remember, but I think they kept the money orders, then when it was time to send in each one, it was sent in. Talk to your lawyer though before you do anything to be sure. That was way back in 96, so things have changed since then.
First of all if you have not received a receipt, there is something wrong.

Secondly, you should check with the lawyer and find out if the check written by his office for your petition has cleared the bank or not. Ask for copy. On the back there should be the receipt number. You should fee the receipt number in USCIS website to keep track of the case.

The rest of paperwork charges (filing fees) is not expensive, if fiance is out of US. Fiance has to pay non immigrant visa fees in the country of interview.
