I think it would make everything go a lot faster if you could just go to the line where the person speaks your language and then since there are more people who speak Spanish, it would be more convenient, right?

Sure, that would be a great idea as long as the check out clerk was an ICE agent. Having several lines for Mexicans will make the processing much easier and will not impede the normal people from being held up by them.

We have all but officially made Spanish our official language. If we wait a few more years we can have English speaking US citizens flee to Mexico as they have all come here
Businesses should not be required to do that, but economically speaking they'd probably benefit, at least in certain states, by offering bilingual services. As for the government, I can't justify the expense. Taxpayers shouldn't have to subsidize the inability of some people to learn English. Nobody should have to learn English in the United States. However, I don't think we should have to go out of our way to accommodate that. If you don't speak English, that's fine, but I hope living in the US for a number of years without accommodation will help you realize that learning the dominant language is an invaluable skill.

No, it would cost the store more to do so. Then the cost would be passed onto the consumer. I'm tired of people who won't speak English getting conveniences that cost the American consumer.

why? when u visit italy, japan or france, does it have another line for english speaking people only? of course not, because when we are vacationing in these countries, we try to refer to our translation dictionaries to let that person know what we want. and that's how it should be. if u want to live to a foreign place, the first thing you do is learn the language.
