Can I apply for green cards for my parents immediately after I apply for my own US citizenship?

My parents are in US right now on visitor's visas (B-2). Thus a related question is: can they stay in US longer (waiting for the immigration application processing) than the original B-2 visa duration?

Answer:
I would have to imagine so-it is not like they can shoot you for trying!
Worst thing they would do is thank you for at least trying to work with the system-it seems to be a rarity these days!
