H2R VISA rights and limitations?

My boyfriend is working here in America on a H2R visa...he is only allowed to work for the computer the visa is for- no second job. But does this visa require the immigrant to use housing provided by the visa giver? Can he live somewhere else and still continue his job or is it a package deal of a job and housing? Thanks!

Answer:
your boyfriend would be permitted to work only for the company that petitioned for his entry/skills. he would not be required to live with the employer.

in many cases there are multiple petitioners, that would make it unreasonable to require such restrictions (housing requirements).

However if it is specified by the petitioner that he may only work with them if he also resides in their housing, and he loses his job he would then be out of status...(removable).

There may be other information that would change my answer but based off of what you have provided this is the best i have for you.
