As the spouse of a LEGAL immigrant from overseas, I am very passionate about a few points on illegal immigration...
1) Illegals are NOT discriminated against...they have just as much right to apply for a visa as the next foreigner. And on the flipside, they should be deported just like someone who tried to fly in illegally. Which brings me to my next point...
2) The mere fact that of their close geographic location does NOT give them any more right to be here than, say, someone who wanted to migrate from the UK.
3) The fact that illegals are allowed to stay in the US is a serious kick in the gut to anyone who actually follows the rules and goes through the joke of a process of obtaining the appropriate visa documents.
4) If the US government is willing to deport even ONE illegal immigrant, it must deport ALL of them. Period. You can't pick and choose who has to obey the law and who can sneak under the radar.
I couldn't care less about how illegals affect the economy. It's an insult to every citizen and legal alien that they're allowed to stay.
They're our Work Force.

It finally gives us something to come together over. Republicans and Democrats both for the most part agree on this issue. Now if we can get our politicians to pull their heads out, we will get some movement on this issue.

Well in Spain for example, and Italy, they are a very importand part of the economy. And they produce more than they cost.

Our economy depends on population growth.
The domestic birth rate is actually lower than the death rate, so we need a constant inflow of immigrants to grow the US population.
there is not one good reason to give. they are illegal and they take from our country that we and our ancestors built to make great for future Americans and legal citizens. we need to deport them, report then and close down the borders. and say no to them if they can't come legally.

Hmmm, though illegal, it is the opportunity for individuals not as fortunate as you and I are to have a better life. Most illegal immigrants risk their life to access what many of us take for granted. Yes, there should be a cap on immigration; the USA cannot take care of immigrants worldwide, but our country is in need of immigration reform.
Attempts to ship 'them' (millions of people) home is bad legislature, inhumane, and not reasonably possible. Our best bet is to work on securing the boarders now and come up with a reasonable way of providing a path of citizenship (including learning English, paying reasonable back taxes or fines,) to the people that have migrated to this country.

Your 'facts' you give are just thrown out there with no reference. Billions in welfare? Where do you get that number? A radio talk-show host?
Besides providing cheap labor, they add to societies diversity. However, I believe that the borders need to be MUCH tighter. The security of the nation is paramount to any $ amount you can throw out there. With hundreds of trillions in our budget and billions being 'lost' in our budget for the war, dollars are a problem everywhere.

1) Cheap labor -- 21st century slavery where you get millions of people to work dirty jobs 50 hours a week for slave wages, with no benefits and no hope of ever getting ahead in life.
2) Fat cat CEO's get to buy another vacation home and another hummer thanks to the profits they rake in off the new market pools created by illegals.
3) The opportunity to acquire more "turf" for your street-gang.
4) The opportunity to make more money selling drugs.
5) The opportunity for Mexico to acquire the United States as its property or at least large swaths of it.
6) So politicians can get new voters.

It helps Mexico get rid of many people they can't support.
It provides cheap labor for criminal employers in the US.

They are important to our economy, but the govt looks the other way because we make so much money off them. They are making corporate america richer!! It's opened our eyes to all the loopholes that we have. It's opened our eyes to the NAU and other little secret things going on. It's wised us up as to how easily big business and our government will sell us out for a buck. It's opened our eyes to the fact that there are "radical" groups right in our midst that are ready to destroy us and this country. It's made us realize that being a citizen means you have to be an active participant and watch every move our officials make because they are not watching out for us. It's shown us just how off base we are with PC correctness to the point where it's laughable. It's definately proven to me that what I see is real and what line they are trying to tell me is the messed up version. How "racism" is abused and mis-used to make excuses for certain people. How downward this country is going on alot of different things. Diversity may have been good but there's a point where "diversity" causes great division when there's nothing left in common to work with. People are finally noticing how our rights are being slowly chipped away supposidly for our better good and each tiny thing has serious consequences. Our founding Fathers were brilliant people.....it's idiots ruling now. Just how far stupidity can swing if you let it. ........etc......etc.

Actually we DON'T NEED THEM! Proof: May 1, 2006 - "A day without an immigrant" protest was supposed to cripple our economy and system for a day. It didn't/ Teachers could teach without having to spend most of their time with non-English speaking kids. Businesses functioned, everything was fine - you could even drive 75mph on "the 101" during rush hour!
