Should Spanish become the official language of the US/Mexico bordering States?
What do you guys think?
Answer:
yeah...
no....
No, Mexico isn't the reason the illegals are here, they are here because the founding fathers made the country so great, and since the founding fathers spoke english, they should as well.
no!
Yeah, if they become part of Mexico.
Why just one official language ? Both could be officials !
So, I think.
No...and no.
I refuse to learn spanish on principal. I am an American...and English is our native language.
If you go to another country...learn the language.
You don't go to France and expect that everyone should learn English.
It should remain English. If I moved to China I wouldn't expect them to change their primary language to English.
NO NO NO NO NO NO! we are over populated by Mexicans! more than half of the are illigal!
Of course. Everyone in those places speaks Spanish so why not make it official?
Nope. If it's the U.S. it should stay English. Besides, why would they want to? English is the language that is being used all around the world nowadays. Now if you mean this is as a one of those question to "damn those Mexicans" your just being ignorant. How long do you think Mexicans have been living in the border states? It hasn't been only recently they have been here.
no, I don't like to press 1 for english
No. Spanish should be the official language of Mexico. English is spoken in the U.S.
well no if the state is in the US then they should speak english and if its on Mexico then they should speak spanish. Thats how it is even if everyone speaks spanish there its still a US state.
No. Sorry, it was already voted on in Arizona that ENGLISH is the official language of this state.
Hell no!
I think the United States should have more than one official language. Most other countries do and they are smaller in size. The problem is that the average American barely speaks proper English so how can they learn another language? If you don't believe me, visit the South or the Midwest. In Europe, most people speak 2 languages.good question.
HE11 NO!!!
NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,...
and "tragedys_kiss" is RIGHT, so is"serpico_7"
you mean it's not already?
oh i thought it was already!
NO!
no, not unless mexico makes the official language on thier side english and spanish.
Why? I think it is a ridiculous idea - I'm not even seeing any logic in this question- it's actually extremely baffling to me
Hell, no! Are the Mexican border states going to make their official language English.
We must not cater to these illegal aliens and legal foreigners. You come here, you abide by our rules and customs.
You take off your head/face covering for a drivers license picture. You ring up my breakfast sausage at the check out even though you are against pork.
Do you think if you go and live in the Middle East and are a woman that you can go out in public without your head covered? If you take a job in Germany, are they going to speak English to you. No to both. You follow their customs.
Do you think you wear your shoes into the house at the residence of someone in Japan and it is OK? NO, ITS NOT.
English is the language that is spoken in this country. Learn it or struggle to understand.
No, why should it?
Whether you're here legally or illegally, I think every immigrant should learn how to speak English.
BUT if you're fluent in multiple languages you'll have better opportunities of getting good jobs.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
No leave it at English like it always has been.
No one is asking for that.
The fact that many people speak Spanish doesn't mean that those states have to get the Spanish as its official language.
Claro que si !
It should become one of the official languages. Not "the" official language.
Coming to think of it, how many Americans are descended from the English? About 10% or so ancestry stats say. The majority are descended from the Irish, Scots, Germans, Poles, Dutch, Swedes, Italians, Russians, Spaniards, Frenchmen, Nigerians, Liberians, Ghanaians, Navajos, Cherokees, Algonquins, Chinese, Koreans, Arabs, Indians, etc. But everyone has forgotten the languages of their ancestors and speak English today. In fact "Americans" are an anthropological miracle who have taken the English away from the English themselves!
Then why is this obsessive paranoia against Espanol? Its never going to displace English. Why can't the two co-exist? Why are so many people so intolerant of others?
I think that both English and Spanish should be official languages.
NO.
