Do you think the houses of Congress or the registered voters should be voting on immigration?
Answer:
YES, YES, YES !
I have just about lost all confidence in the losers who have maneuvered their way into congress yet do not seem to have the fortitude to make any major decisions on their own. It is time that the immigration policy ruling be made by the citizens who bear the hardship and cost of the massive illegal alien influx.
YES! I think the American people need to get out and vote on this issue. We need to have the same question on every states ballot. The majority will win.
** Those that gave me a thumbs down HAHA you can't vote anyway! LOL
Registered voters should vote on the immigration bill, The senate is setting the path for big business
and not the citizens of the country.
We should vote on this issue but we must enforce our current laws! Jail employers to dry up the job market. Deport/jail the illegal alien criminals. Use the 14th how it was intended - no anchor babies!
Secure the borders BEFORE there is any discussion about what we should do about LEGAL immigration.
Good question!
I think this issue should not be in the hands of politicians, because I do not trust them to resolve this issue for the American citizen. It should be put to a vote of registered voters.
On a federal level, that really isn't an option. What would be an option is a vote to amend the 14th Amendment so that it is crystal clear in defining who really is a US Citizen. i know some people believe that it doesn't need amending but I believe that would be the safer course.
Passing such an amendment would, of course deny millions of people Food Stamps and other nice federal benefits, which citizens and legal immigrants pay for.
Well, I wouldn't be surprise if in the 2008 election there is a "referendum" on immigration... just as the Democrats claimed that the 2006 election was a referendum on the War in Iraq.
The voters WILL vote on immigration come November. I've already written Sen. Feinstein & Boxer and Rep Lantos... sadly the are pro-amnesty and won't get my vote ever again.
Hell, yes, the registered voters should vote on immigration.
A vote by the people is needed. The people in DC aren't listening to the will of the people. There should be a nationwide referendum . We the legal citizens should have control over where our tax money goes and who is allowed in this nation.
The only bill that needs to be put before Congress is a bill for total enforcement of out existing laws. If they had always enforced the laws of this land we would have never reached this point.
This bill is not going to pass as it stands. It should not. We MUST secure the borders first . That had to be done before any so called immigration bill is passed.
SOmething that directly affects all of the citizens should be put to a vote as we are paying for it,we have a right as cititzens to do so. Government is abusing the powers that they seem to think is their god given right forgetting that they are elected officials and can just as easily be yesterdays news. Too many of our rights are being stripped away every day by the do gooders in society that think I cannot make up my own mind about issues that affect me directly.Voting days a coming. It is track history that will be the proving ground this time not just what is said to appease us and never carried through.....
