Travelling to the USA on a 12 month emergency passport (dual citizenship)?

My girlfriend has dual citizenship - born in the USA to an American mother and Brirish father, now lives in Britian. She is travelling to the USA in a couple of weeks and is aware that she must use her American passport to enter the USA. She acquired a 12 month emergency US passport a few months ago for a trip she needed to make to the USA and hasn't yet transferred this to a full 10 year passport. I notice on Wikipedia it says that you can only enter the USA once on an emergency passport, but this will be her second trip there using it. Will this be ok? It is still valid for a few months.

she should still be able to enter the US on her british passport the only thing is that she will only be allowed to stay for 3 months. About the emergency passport I'm not so sure.

If your U.S. passport has been lost or stolen, or if it has expired, you must apply to replace it before traveling to the United States. Emergency passports can be issued for a maximum of one year.
