4 my grand daughter will i get earn income for her she was born sept 06?

just want to know if she quailfy for earn income

Answer:
What the person above me said is not true, as long as the kid was born before December 31st, then she can qualify for earned income. However, are you her legal guardian? I noticed you wrote GRAND daughter and not daughter. She has to be a legal dependant of yours in order for you to claim her on your taxes and recieve the earned income credit. Talk to your accountant or local tax representative, they can explain it to you in legal terms much better. I do know, definitely, that as long as the child is born by the LAST day of the fiscal year, she can be counted on your taxes as a legal dependant.
No because you have to be born for 6 months out of the year.
