Would You Do These?
Answer:
Instead of trying to defend people who are breaking the laws of this country, why not help them come here the right way. I have had jobs that most people wouldnt do, so that I could pave my way in this country while paying taxes and social security, and doctor bills etc..I wouldnt break the law. You should be mad at the company or person who hires an illegal, because that business is taking advantage of them by working for pennies. There are lazy people everywhere and some dont mind poverty, cause nothing is expected of them. Well I think that should change. Maybe we need Welfare to stop taking care of these people so that they need to have those jobs that illegal immigrants had. Or the Jail system should have inmates doing these physically demanding jobs. Inmates have a better life than some people in the world. Be mad at the system that pays, feeds, shelters, gives Internet access, books, etc.for nothing. You are fitting the bill for that, why not have them work and contribute to this country, just like everyone else should. Including anyone who comes to this country.
good question. under extreme conditions, when breaking the law can save your life, it becomes ideal to do so if it means survival
as for the jobs, i'm sure some of them will be filled, but there will definitely be a deficit
yes, that's life.
gey used to it.
Hey we do not need the whole damn country of mexico up here do do these things. America does not need to turn into upper mexico for this kind of work to be done. Construction, theres plenty of Americans who are willing to do those jobs, we just have higher living standards, we dont live 12 people per house so we need higher pay..
I hate to bust your bubble, but who do you think did them before? Americans have been doing these jobs for the past how many years?
What you are saying is stereotyping Americans.
Crossing the border illegally is DOING something wrong, you just refuse to see it that way...be thankful that we don't do what other countries do to illegal criminals.
American citizens performed these jobs in the past before the flood of criminal illegal aliens and they will do them again once the criminal illegal aliens get deported.
If I was poverty stricken I would take advantage of the services provided to me thru the American tax paying citizen. Not break the law. Breaking the law to better myself is a cop out and a sign of selfishness and disregard for everything but myself.
I have plowed my own hay, worked in the wheat field, checked irrigation, moved hand-lines, mucked out stalls in the freezing cold, I've worked under the blistering sun out in the cattle fields for eight hour days. I've picked up after my brothers and sister and rest of the family, I've cleaned other peoples toilets, mopped floors, mowed my lawn and others, watered my own grass and plants, cleaned my house, worked as a grocery bagger, etc. On our farm we are proud to do our own work with the help of family and LEGAL residents! Physical work is fun, I would have no problem stepping up and doing it!
There is a huge difference between disrespecting the policy of our nation's immigration laws, and j-walking.. Just how there is a difference between stealing a piece of candy from the store, and robbing a bank. Each violation of law has a consequence.
If I were in poverty, I'd seek some help and guidance as to how I could respect the country I plan on making my home, and taking the legal route so in the long run I wouldn't have to go through anymore hassle.
Who do you think did these jobs in the first place? Certainly not the slaves because that ended hundreds of years ago. And American citizens are the ones who are entitled to these positions.
Yes I would!! There are millions of Americans who also would and do, do these jobs. Most are angry because the "illegal" worker pays NO taxes and is a huge DRAIN on the economy!
Yes I have done all of those
Some American will take those jobs! The employer may have to pay more, Hell they may even have to throw in some benefits (god forbid) but this country wouldn't colapse. As far as if i was in a poverty stricken scenario, Id pro bally do what it took legally! what i wouldn't do is cross the border and start demanding rights!
hmmmmmmmmm
Let me clear this up for you...
My THREE brothers ALL work in construction...they ALL started out as laborers...you know the entry level position on the site.
I have worked as not only a live in nanny while in college, but also as a maid in the Westin Hotel right in downtown Cincinnati...
Some of us aren't too lazy to work. But, from the tone of your question, we can see who is.
What does any of your emotion-laden and childish questions have to do with anything? They are NOT germane to the legal matter of illegals coming into this country, breaking our laws and then some of them having the gall to parade in our streets and raise their buzzard-laden flag.
I won't do any of those jobs because I am a skilled worker who is able to command a significantly higher salary and compensation package than an uneducated, illiterate, unskilled illegal.
But if I had no marketable skills and needed to earn my keep, then sure, I would do whatever job was necessary.
And if there was an illegal keeping me from getting such a job, I'd be mighty angry.
My friend who has been in construction for many years, was laid off recently. He's spent months trying to get full time work. One supervisor of a construction firm told him the construction jobs are being taken up by the illegal immigrants and wages have dropped as well.
If I was poverty stricken, I would do any job I could find to earn money, especially if I have a family depending on me.
I would do whatever it took to provide for my children as long as I was doing it legally and not hurting others. That means paying taxes which pays for our children's schooling and other valuable government resources such as social security, medicare, welfare, etc. You're right who hasn't done something "illegal" before.does jaywalking or going five miles over the speed limit really affect my lifestyle or anyone elses for that matter? Does misrepresenting who you are and receiving state and federal care hurt anyone? Not those receiving it so why not?! Let's keep allowing criminals like illegal immigrants to roam our streets.whats next? Drug dealers on every corner without being held accountable for their crimes? Pedophiles teaching in our schools? Why not? Like you said everyone has done SOMETHING illegal right, so it is OK...as long as they can provide for their family.
You do what you have to do but legally. My first job as a teenager was as a motel maid. You have to start somewhere. We can survive without illegals.
I am a housekeeper for many years, make very little money and even in times of severe poverty, I didn't steal or break the law.
Well, I don't have to make a career out of one of those because I graduated from high school and am eligible to be employed legally in the US.
But I did work in a motel laundry to pay for a place to stay when I 1st had my daughter and left my husband.
I garden on over an acre for a hobby- this summer- tomatoes, corn, beans, peas, onion and 2 types of potatoes. That would mean I do all the weeding, picking and spraying of insecticide.
And last but not least I spent my weekend helping my current love build a garage by carrying 160 lb sheets of OSB up an extension ladder.
So- I don't really have a problem doing any of those jobs.
The only real reason the illegals get stuck in these jobs is because of their choices to enter this country illegally and to fail to educate themselves.
You bring up the poverty issue- they have to support their families. Why are they having children they can't afford in the first place?
It costs nothing to shut your legs and keep them closed.
i know- I have one child because that is all I can afford. It is called personal responsibility.
Legal Legal Legal not ILLEGAL that's the difference the LEGALS can have the jobs we won't do since most are uneducated or don't speak English. So whats your point.
I hate to burst your bubble, but people illegally are getting jobs that legal Americans could have had. These people came from other countries and now getting jobs here, have you ever thought of it as 'stealing' ? That is (let's say you're unemployed, I don't mean disabled), and there's an illegal immigrant that applies for a job opening, you apply for the same position, and you weren't hired. What are your feelings about it now?
As far as your question goes ... NO,I wouldn't break the law. If a person is that bad off, there's help. All you have to do is apply for it.
PLEASE!! My ex provided for our family doing construction work, I supplimented the income from time to time doing maid work at the Hilton, I've worked in chicken farms pulling dead chickens. My father was a factory worker, janitor at a school and my mom was one of the dreaded cafeteria workers. These were not seen as jobs Americans wouldn't do. Americans were doing them till the illegals came in and offered to do them for less. I have been poverty stricken and needed to do those very jobs they are taking. LOTS of Americans want and need those jobs. LOTS of those jobs we can longer get because of "must speak Spanish". There is nothing shameful doing labor jobs but you can forget it if you think illegals are somehow a better breed because they do the jobs for less money. My nephew went to New Orleans and worked and was "dismissed" once the Mexicans came because they worked for less. I swear I'm gonna scream the next time I hear that load of crap. Who the heck do you think did it before the Mexicans came? Houses sprouted from the ground? Vegetables and fruits just packed and shipped themselves? Self-cleaning motel rooms? NO. AMERICAN citizens did those jobs and were fighting for fair wages..but NO.illegals came and volunteered to do it for even less and then now cry how they're slaves. So sorry..been there, done that and so have millions of other Americans.
It's illegal to have 25 people in a single family dwelling. It's illegal to use stolen or made-up SS#'s. It's illegal to drive without a license and insurance. It's illegal to not pay taxes. You're not supposed to work under the table either. It's illegal to open a business without a license. It's illegal to get federal aid without reporting ALL income. It's illegal to sell drugs. It's illegal to run from the scene of an accident. It's illegal to drive drunk. It's illegal to dump your Corona bottles in other peoples yards. It's illegal to releive yourself in public. It's illegal to blast music after certain hours of the day. That's to name a few I've personally seen. Oh ya.no chickens in non-ag areas. Lewd sexual comments, rape, child molestation, murder, spousal abuse etc. etc. etc.
There very well may be a few who fit the profile of what you'd like to beleive they ALL are. But I can tell you....many more aren't. They aren't nice, they aren't honest and I haven't seen them do a LEGAL job yet. Ya...they're making a fortune selling drugs, false ID's and other things. Robbing places and then running for the border.
