They come here because it's the easiest way for them to make it. They're not willing to work twice as hard in their own country. They're not willing to work to make changes there either.

mexico does have it's own opportunities but america is a safer country. illegal immigrants know that their families have a higher chance of success in america because of the public education system and the endless need for laborers. and also, they don't all steal, they aren't all criminals so please don't stereotype them.

There are many very wealthy people in Mexico, who prefer to live, work and play in Mexico. Unfortunately they don't really help their poor, uneducated peasants who end up making their way to the U.S.not for a free handout. But for jobs that pay much better than in Mexico.
I knew we would have these anti-illegals trying to make some stupid idiotic point of Carlos Slim being Mexican and the richest man on earth, and how you try to use that to favor your points on this immigration problem.

I don't understand why your anger isn't directed at the people who hire them (restaurants, construction, maids, landscaping, etc) off the books. It all comes down to greed, in the final analysis. Wealthy countries exploit poorer ones for their cheap labor and natural resources all the time. What baffles me however is that people in wealthy countries seem genuinely surprised when that comes back to bite them in the ***. Lack of perspective and foresight, not to mention a basic understanding of economic realities.

Many people here have good answers. Different people make different decisions according to their reality (depending on their education, on what they know and on what they hear, etc.). but I agree with 'chiquis707' in the part where she says people would have to work twice as hard to make Mexico a better place to live in. 'midcenturydesigner' also has some good information. ... another thing, the US is very popular and famous and I think that is one of the biggest attractions for most people to believe that moving into the US is the answer.
I think they are here because the land was stolen from them and because history does have a better way to do justice.

you're clueless my friend, how many ppl can have all those billions?, how did he obtained them? have you ever wondered about that? im a Mexican (living in Mexico, easy) and i can tell you that he owes lots of favors to politicians he's not as hard worker as you may think
