Why as an english person,do i feel second class in my own country?

anyone know that feeling? im all for multi-culture but not when they are getting so much out of our country(benifiets, housing etc...) that we have worked and paid taxes for.

Answer:
native red indians, and aboriginies (excuse the spelling) are the real natives of their countrys, it truly belongs to them, yet white man came along and took over.
I am a white english person, born and bred here, and yes i feel that our needs and traditions are slowly dwindling away for the sake of the minorities.
The thing is, if we all descended on one of their countries, we would be expected to act and do as they do
After all, when in rome do as the romans do
this kind of thing has been happening for centuries.
I feel that if people want to come live here they should firstly work solidly for a good period of time before being able to claim anything, also they should be made to live as we do, and not expect us to bow to their wants and needs
and if they dont like that they should then go home
Our values and traditions are just as important to us as theirs are to them, therefore if they come here they should respect that
I FEEL LIKE THAT WHEN ALL YOU ENGLISH PEOPLE COME INTO MY COUNTRY, YOU FEEL LIKE IT AS THEY GET BETTER TREATMENT THAN YOU, **** HAPPENS
the CBI director general Digby Jones [has] pointed out that for every 1 per cent increase in immigration, there was a 1.5 per cent increase in the national wealth and that 97 per cent of immigrants found work straight away.

Ken Livingstone, from http://www.poptel.org.uk/scgn/articles/0...
maybe cause how your treated and because there are so many other races around and u feel uncomfortable
You have a low self-esteem. Look for a psychiatrist.
u r a bigot.!!
many of the people u describe as "they" pay taxes too...and many of the ones that u describe as "we" live on social security.!
open yr mind..this is an international website!
Multi-culturalism is a politically correct mirage. It doesn't work. A country needs unified morals, language, values, laws, goals, methods. If people come to the UK, we welcome them but they have to understand that they have to adapt to us and not vice versa. If they are attracted enough by what we stand for to come here, they should be willing to stand for the same things.
It's called a complex. You should accept diversity as you can't stop it anyway. The future of mankind will be much better if we just learn to tolerate each other instead of feeling like 2nd class citizens....have a nice day!
its the same here in Ireland ,the country is over run with foreigners .fair play to them if they want to work but must of the Jobs are being undercut by them and the Irish are now finding it hard to make a living, if you say anything you are called a racist which I'm not but i think that too many are being left in
You personally have not paid for anything. Everyone pays taxes, regardless of legal status.
iits payback for making people BE second class in their country for centuries.payback is a b i t c h
I wonder how many Native American Indians would ask that
same question to you.
I don't feel 2nd class, but I know what you mean, luckily we havent got too many where I live yet, but it won't be long as my Grandad used to say before the whole of Britain is full of foreigners
You feel like a second class citizen in your own country tatoodle because you have to push 1 for English when you call any company on the phone. WHAT OTHER COUNTRY HAS THAT? When we were in France we could not even get an English speaking channel on our hotel cable TV!
I'm a white man in America, your singin' to the choir
its because you r jealous.
Well, I find that a lot of immigrants come over here do want to work and a lot do the jobs that english folks don't want to do - eg. street cleaning, factory work, refuse collection. So they contribute to the nation. However, I do think that the government needs to review the process of who can claim benefits. I think you should only be allowed to claim for benefits for half the amount of time you have ever worked in the country. So if you have only worked for 1 year, then you can only claim for 6 months max. And you must have to work for a year, before you can start claiming.
you're 2nd class in your own country cuz you're a second class person. You don't try hard enough. Maybe the "multi cultural" work harder than you.

IT TRUE! If your belly is full you stop trying. and so empires rise and fall.
I agree
You have low self-esteem
because your politicians, both Dems and GOPs, are picking your pocket to support 3rd world types coming like an avalanche into this country; it doesn't feel good, does it!!
That is a feeling brought on by frustration and/or lack of self confidence. Both of those create feelings of helplessness and sense of loss. But you can fix that by taking control of those things you can control.Read up on the subjects that bother you.Gain as much information from solid sources as you can. Many times we fight the boogie man in our own heads and then find out he's not real.Good luck
The blunder you made is that you were not selective in whom you took in.
Even now you have to openly acknowledge which groups of people contribute to your economy and which dont.
US and France are also making the same blunder .
Thats life im afraid! Im glad our country is becoming multi cultured although not so glad that my taxes are being sent to familys abroad. such a touchy subject, one nobody will agree on.

if you say you agree your seen as racist or jelouse.or "you have low self esteem" which to be honest is cr*p!

Good for you to speak your mind and I for one agree, Im not saying people from other countrys shouldnt move here or that they shouldnt claim benefits but so many people are just taking the piss!
its thesame in ireland i think they want us to feel insignificant so we will do the **** work and ask no questions but i refuse to believe im not special
Cut the total BULLSHIT man ! Who made the "classes"? and why ? the Brits are left overs from the warring germanic tribes. Just read that question of yours ! It stinks of typical inbred brit high and mighty over other nations' people. You paid taxes to keep in luxurious comfort a load of fornicating lying right wing pimps man. That is what you should be angry about. Those same worms are annually robbing and victimising disabled and socially marginalised people. You do not OWN a country...you learn to share it !! Sad man .
As an "english person" or as an American?

Americans should never feel as if they are second class citizens. Any person from whatever country they are from shouldn't feel that way either.

Once the immigration problem is fixed we will all have to be as one "Americans", if people come here and don't want to assimilate they should consider staying in their own country.
Gordon Brown will ensure that you have no position in society at all..i do hope the English wont turn up as asylum seekers in Scotland when we become an independent
country...we will say 'what a shame noo get hame'

unless of course you happen to be a footballer
I agree with you, when we had the empire they clamoured for independence when they got it and had to fend for themselves they couldn`t , so the flood started with the excuse that we owe them a living, that`s why they come here ,freebies.
If you are unemployed, you can claim benefits like every unemployed person. As for housing, have you seen the state of most council properties? Do you *really* want social housing? In the UK, if you are white, you get better jobs and opportunities. Is your gripe about the taxes? White people are not the only ones who work and pay taxes. White people also get benefits. Ever heard of a white person who didn't get his/her benefit because immigrants finished all the money? Jeez!

White people not only get the best jobs in their country, they get best jobs in other people's countries. Those other people are made to feel like second class citizens in their own country. Do you know that feeling? You really don't.

IMO, you need learn to see things from a different point of view. Just count lucky stars that you don't have to go through some of the sh!t that immigrants experience.
sorry to say, "you are" All the recent governments have allowed anyone into the country, and expected us to pay for them. Now it so bad here that the politicians is scared to speak out against immigration as it will cost his/her party votes. or their meal ticket into the house of commons. Just accept it and start looking after number one, that all you can do now, maybe one day us Brits will wake up and say we've had enough, but i wouldn't hold my breath.
You screwed up their lands for centuries now its their turn...lol
