You might be able to get a visa based on UK ancestry, if one of your grandparents was born in the UK. Otherwise, you have no special rights.
As a South African citizen, you can also come as a Working Holidaymaker for two years.

tell them you are a terrorist.
we like giving terrorists homes and cars and free money.
Seems to me Chimplad is right.
flush your passport down the toilet, claim your a refugee, and the UK will give you free housing, benefits and a healh care. you dont need to speak English, or work, as you will be helping our economy - one day all nations will see such benefits...
Unless you have grandparents who were born in UK you do not qualify for a visa. You can as someone said before, get a work visa for 2 years but only until you are 27 years old.
I have a problem that I came here with an ancestral visa ( my father was a Brit but not born here, my grandfather was born in London) I have lived here since 1976 and have naturalised years ago and even though I am British, my daughter who is over 18 cannot get a visa to work here.( she lives in Cape Town)
That is why I get angry when the other idiots on this site say things like just come over and see the pavements paved with gold. When I came over I already owned my house,I had my bank statements showing a healthy balance and they still stamped my visa that I was not allowed access to public funds. Not that I wanted it.
