Do you think we'd have an illegal alien problem if welfare for nothing was never invented?

As my late grandfather used to say, "if I didn't work I didn't eat". Wondering if our multi generation welfare collectors would be cutting the grass if they didn't get a freebie from productive people.

Answer:
Finally, someone with a brain. I must admit that I misunderstood your question at first as well. I see what you're saying. You're saying if the lazy whites and blacks from the South actually worked instead of collecting welfare, we wouldn't have jobs for illegal aliens to come to...I totally agree. Great observation; you should give yourself 10 points.
OK, you are assuming that the only reason illegals come here is to live off of welfare. That, son, is called stereotyping. I don't answer questions with stereotypes.
so true, welfare was only used in extreme cases before our current system came about. And a long long time ago welfare was even given on a personal charitable basis, it was not mandated by the government.
well i think if we dropped welfare, it would help a lot of things but the other problem with illegal immigrants is that they hang out at home depot and stuff and work for people for money and get paid more here than they would in mexico.
I think that even if we didn't have a welfare system in place we would still have a problem with illegals. On what kind of a scale, I'm not really sure. I can also tell you that if we had no welfare system in place, people would not be abusing the system like they do now and people would not be as liable to have as many kids because they would know that the government would not be helping them to support their kids that they had. People would not be abusing the system in general.
It would be a lot less thats for sure. Although most are good people they are still here illegally and should not ever get any form of tax services. No schooling, no medical, no food stamps, no housing, no WIC, no anything.
Illegal immigrants can't get welfare. 70% of people on welfare are caucasian who reside in the southern states like Alabama, Mississippi, etc. Please stop misinforming.
Yes you would. We come here to work, not to be on welfare.
yes we would, and I don't think the mutli generational welfare collectors have enough formal education to enable them to get jobs and would not be able to survive without it. It may make it harder for illegals to find jobs, but I am sure they would still come.
Illegal people DO get public aid. Illegal pregnant mothers DO get free medical, DO get WIC, WIC does not even ask for your legal status. Illegal mothers that have their child/children born in the U.S, the children are U.S citizens. Therefore, since they are U.S citizens the mother gets to apply for free medical, WIC, and food stamps for their children. Which is enough to feed the whole family. I am not sure how long the mother gets before getting kicked off of Medicaid, at least 6 weeks.
