Acquiring Citizenship in South Africa IN ADDITION TO other nation's citizenship?

If I have an American citizenship and I wish to also gain citizenship in South Africa, is there any special process that must be taken outside of the traditional steps to becoming a citizen of South Africa through naturalisation? Especially, are there any restrictions, e.g. that I must renounce American citizenship before being a naturalised South African? If so, is the restriction from the American or South African side?

Answer:
The current SA regime do not allow dual citizenship.
You would be asked to relinquish your American passport in exchange for a South African passport.

I´m not sure why anyone in their right mind would want to do that!
