It pisses me off, and I'm an American. I despise that so many people here feel the need so spread such hatred and ignorance. I'm certainly not one of them, however, and I apologize on behalf of my "fellow citizens." Hopefully, they'll soon forget this and leave the Mexicans alone. It seems to me that most Americans just need someone to hate, for whatever reason, and I'm sure it won't be long before they find another ethnic group to look down on.
But all of you responding are right. Mexicans should simply sit on their hands and watch their families starve, now that they can't legally immigrate because Bush has essentially halted legal immigration. *snort* I don't know about any of you, but I would work illegally to save my family from starvation and misery in a heartbeat.

Wrong. Illegal aliens are a bad for the U.S. economy. If they are not deported they will cost over $500 billion. They also are taking jobs away from Americans and they send $60 billion a year out of the country.
They also increase crime. Illegal aliens rape and murder more than American criminals. 30% of all prisoners in the U.S. are foreigners. One illegal alien even raped two elderly nuns and then killed one of them.
I hate illegals no matter what country they are from.

MYTH: Americans won't do the work that illegals do.
TRUTH: Prior to 1965 when the disastrous Immigration Bill was passed, there was very little immigration. In fact, between 1925 and 1965, there was even a period of net emigration out of the United States. During this time, our grass was getting cut, our meat was being packed, our children were being watched and our houses were being cleaned. The idea that somehow we suddenly can't run a country without an unlimited supply of foreigners is absurd.
Those in favor of foreign labor are corporations who are addicted to cheap labor. They are the ones who are benefiting. But their benefit comes at the American tax payer's expense when you consider that the American tax payer is virtually subsidizing the labor costs of the greedy corporations by supplying the illegal foreign workers and their families with welfare, free education, free medical, WICs, housing assistance, etc. -- something the corporations won't do.
Americans won't allow themselves to be exploited like illegals do, but they WILL do the work that illegals do for fair compensation and benefits. If Americans did the work that illegals do at higher pay, would that benefit the consumer? You bet it would in the long run. But many Americans who do not care about America's future are consumers who favor the idea of exploiting illegal workers because it keeps commodity and service prices down in the short term.
I don't have any problem with a person coming from any country to work here...it is what made the US great. (Incidentally, my mother's family came over on the Mayflower; my father is native American). However, DO IT LEGALLY. I have a big problem with people crossing the border illegally and then taking away from those of us who are citizens or resident aliens. If your first act in this country is criminal, why should we welcome you?

Not only this happens with us, mexicans but with asians it hapened with italians with russians with polish with all kind of inmigrants.
The problem is they don´t really care about it, thet don´t know what kind of person we are thanx to stupid stereotypes.
I dn´t deny there are a few that are criminals, gangs, that are selling drugs, but they are a huge minority, 90% of the illegal people works hard, PAY TAXES, and live in a honest way.

Unless a Mexican is a different race, you can't be racist toward them, only bigoted. THAT'S what bugs me the most about it. I don't like the generalizations, either. Not all Mexicans are doing the jobs that Americans won't do. Some are a drain on society and some are assets. It isn't cut and dried.

lets put it this way. Not only mexicans, but many other people from other countries are tearing a hole in our economy, since they recieve Job benefits, and wages, but are not taxed. The IRS does not come knocking on their door, and saying pay up, because they are undocumented in the US Bureau of the Census. Also, more than 60% of Homicide arrest warrrants in LA are for the arrest of an illgeal alien. Heck, they were even creating job shortages for a time. I do not generalize about mexicans, in fact I have many friends of Hispanic ancestry. What I really hate is all the illegal people messing up our country!!! :(

They want to sneak into our country illegally, abuse the system, raise our crime rate, and then blame us for not accepting them with open arms. The employers hiring them are at fault, and hopefully, slowly but surely, as has been happening lately, they will be cracked down on. The raids in the last few days were a refreshing move for all of us that LOVE our country. I can read post after post on here that shows "they" hate us and it shows!! If someone hates you, it is only human nature to hate in return!!!!! And since the original poster brought it up (Mexicans), your own countrymen that came here legally resent other illegals for cutting in front of them. Do you doubt this??? Ask them!!!! Get your facts right. Yes my ancestors came from England, Ireland, Scotland & Canada. but they were LEGAL immigrants. They came througfh Ellis Island & were checked in. They worked hard to support their families.My Great Grand Father came from Scotland & married a Indian women from the Crow tribe from Kansas.I am very proud of my ancesters. Yes My other great grandmother came from Montreal. She married a american & became a american citizen. None of my relatives snuck in to america. They came in the front door with their heads held highAs for the fruits & vegtables rotting in the firlds. , remember MOTHER NATURE?
