Can you walk away from the talking points for a minute and answer this?

I worked for about 4 years in La Jolla and Del Mar California, truly a beautiful place to visit, if you get a chance. In a lot of the canyons that weave through the $600,000-multi million dollar homes from Claremont to Oceanside, there are migrant farm camps. This is no real secret in San Diego County. These people in these camps who live in the elements that are shot with pellet guns and run out by the cops regularly work for some of the people who live on these hills. Maybe they garden. Maybe they are nannies. Maybe they work in the Carlsbad flower fields. Maybe they do the cooking at Aviara country club or one of the other coastal hotels or farms in the area. They put in work, but they don't get the benefits for that work. Their employers can afford million dollar homes and expensive cars and barely pay these people who live in the valleys the money to go to Jack in a Box.

Why is the creation of a defacto slave populace acceptable to those who advocate open borders?

Answer:
Well put. A star for you! That is exactly what is going on here. I have posted to this fact several times. But the pro-open border people just don't get it. That is why I say that there should be serious penalties for anyone who uses illegal labor. Maybe even pro rate the fine based on how rich the violator is. But since big money rules the land, nothing like this will ever happen.
Because business gets cheap labor, the churches get their pews and coffers filled, congress gets their pockets lined and you get the bill along with the rapings and murders as well as unemployment.
If they are illegal, the bigger question is why are they not rounding them up and deporting them? Then those jobs would go to legal citizens and they would be paid a better wage.
>>Why is the creation of a defacto slave populace acceptable to those who advocate open borders? <<

Kind of answering your own question there, Skippy.

They want open borders so they can HAVE the defacto slave population. It makes me sick.

The solution to the illegal immigration problem is to DEPORT the illegals AND make their EMPLOYERS pay the costs ofthe deportation.
why dont yo go and take a poll among them and find out where they really work, and how much they really make.
and then take a poll on the ones living in $600,000-multi million dollar homes on how they vote and who they employ
Good question. I think that there are however two different problems to be addressed: 1. what should be the proper policy to deal with millions of immigrants? 2. What should be the proper policy to help those millions of immigrants?

On the first I think that there needs to be a fairly open-border policy that allows a more open world work market, but particularly a much more mobile U.S.-Mexico labor market. This is essential for both countries and the welfare of their population as a whole. In addition, although they appear to live in poverty, these people find the means to send a lot of money home to families and friends in Mexico.

However, I do think there needs to be significant legislation that enforces worker's rights and stable situations for workers when they are here. It is unacceptable the way that illegal and legal immigrants are treated in this country. The immigration bill that the Senate will vote on does include some labor standards for those who become legal workers in the U.S. through the process. The tradeoff then is giving them legal status in exchange for significant expansion of their rights.

Good question, very important. However, I do think that there are two different policy problems that need to be dealt with.
A de facto slave populace isn't just acceptable to them. It's the whole idea. Some of them even like to think of themselves as liberals, but they secretly would like to be slave owners.
Personally, while I think something needs to be done as far as changing immigration, I feel the FIRST thing is that the borders need to be secure. We have a lot of illegal drug traffic, the illegal human traffic, and who knows what all else!

I am not opposed to revamping immigration, but ramming amnesty (under and guise) down our throats and only making NOISE about securing the border does NOT work for me.

I think they need to START with enforcing the CURRENT border laws and we can make changes after I have SOME faith in my government again ...

(yet, somehow, I'm not hopeful now that they have "revived" the current baloney bill ... )
if i here you correctly the answer to what you are seeking is that they dont care how much money they make . We have choices ... these people choose to live like that ...would you take a job that you didnt meet your needs.Iknow that if we could make life easier for everyone that we could sometimes they shold just put us in charge
Supporters of illegal immigration use the argument that our fruits and produce are cheaper because of them but I've tried to raise the point that the savings aren't being passed on to the consumer, the employers are getting richer and richer.
It is too bad that these people are being misused. If they weren't here illegally the very rich would not be able to take such advantage of them.I don't hire them and I don't own a millon dollar home.I really doesn't help me out at all to have them here. They are a drain on the working class American. The rich can always find someone to do their dirty work.
Why don't you ask the criminals? They are there by choice and they are there illegally. YOU say cops chase them away, but apparently they just come back. Nobody is keeping them there, there are no fences or guards to confine them. Yet they stay and return when run off. The people who hire them SHOULD be in jail for hiring illegals but we know that isn't going to happen.
Their employers educated themselves and worked hard to get million dollar homes, the people you refer to as defacto slaves have not done anything of the sort. They abandon their own country to come here and yet show no loyalty to the US. They show only contempt with their demands that WE learn their language and respect their flag and holidays.
I cannot speak for anyone but myself but I will be quite pleased when we find a way to forcibly remove them from the country and keep them out. If they don't like it here they can leave anytime and will not be missed except by the corporations who use them to avoid paying Americans for their work.

Until the day comes that we either force them out or make it so undesireable to stay her I could care less what anyone does to them or uses them for. They are criminals and deserve NOTHING.

I don't think you understand the word "slave".
For one thing, the same thing is happening in Mexico. From guess who rich white Mexicans.

"Their employers educated themselves and worked hard to get million dollar homes, the people you refer to as defacto slaves have not done anything of the sort."

Sheri, where do you get this shiit from. Are you trying to convince us or yourself. There is alot of people who are educated and have worked hard. Most people that have gotten filthy rich, have plundered the Americans in one way or the other. For example $4.00 a gallon for gasoline. Oh yea that took alot of hard work.

Deep, it is racism and hate. It is worst than racism. The brown skin Mexicans are not even considered human.Just like they did to the USA native Americans.
A very good question .
Maybe Kennedy is really for slavery , through the back door . So in fact they aren't doing the illegals any favors by giving them Amnesty are they ??
We need to CLOSE the Borders , now , to save the illegals from SLAVERY
I would say they make the same as I do after I pay taxes, SS etc for working legally
I guess that when people are humble enough to a degree that they see fit (because not everybody) is materialistic. Especially, after having been in a tight budget, if at all one even existed. Or a place that they may call home. Naturally anyone will resort to any dam income that they can't get else where. But not to say that all well to do Americans are a*sholes. Because I personally have met many low-paid employees who are even capable of saving somehow(because I personally) would not even work for anything less then 80-120 dollars a day. But that's not to say that with half of those amounts. That it's not possible to get the desired 80-120 bucks daily(after profiting 75-100 percent ) on a regular basis. Especially also if my employer were to provide me with legal,or other kinds of "Assistance" that would not be possible to obtain if I had to go and apply by myself. Whatever the case may be without getting burned(scammed) by some unknown the just wanted to take me for a ride and some one that I had no clue as to where they/he etc. reside and so on! And besides that in the process Would allow me ( for example) to get an education that cost them thousands of dollars! Unless they obtained grants loans etc.etc. The buttom line is old post trades as it used to be in the pioneer days, something that before used to work better then these days.
But seriously, just because they may get under paid at first believe me no one would be so stupid to continue being abused as they have been expected to do by the way people comment on this forum bitterly. As I too am guilty of mainly to just fire back at those who think they are more worthy of respect.
I once went with the baptist chaplain to the migrant worker's camps. In new england. He gave personal care items, translated stuff, wrote stuff, intervened if needed.
So to answer your question some people have for the last 50 years been trying to right a wrong.
The next time you have a maine or RI potatoe or berries ... ask your self do you know who picked your food?
Easier to answer than do you know where the ingredients in your food came from?

BTW one per one all had stories, usually dealing with ignorance and bad choices, but each one had steel in their veins and honesty in their hearts.
