Of course they should be jailed. Identity theft is terrible for the person it happens to. I understand a bunch from the Swift raids are being criminally prosecuted for identity theft, so we can hope they are starting to take it seriously. Unfortunately, I think Bush is just trying to show how 'serious' he is about enforcement in order to get his 'open the borders but screen them' bill through. I don't know that this new determination would last after he gets that.

Yes, they certainly should be jailed and if the are illegal immigrants, after they serve their jail time, they should be deported and never have the future opportunity of trying to return even legally.
I agree with DAR here, though, and I don't believe Pres. Bush will further pursue much to do with illegal immigration if he gets his "amnesty that isn't really amnesty, path to citizenship, etc." bill through.
