I am being sworn in as a US citizen this month. I know I have to surrender my Indian passport. Does anyone know the process (is there a form/fee or do I just mail it in with a cover letter) or is it just easier to call the closest Indian Consulate?

The Indian Embassy will ask for the passport the next time you go there to get an India visa on the US passport. Thats what happened to my husband. He just held on to it until then. If you really want to get rid of it, then yes call the nearest Indian embassy.
You aren't gonna get dual citizenship if they offer it? You should because it will be really nice in the future. I think that it is possible to get dual citizenship for both India and the US (I'm not really sure). Sorry, I can't help you on the passport issue. Good luck!
