He's 'only in jail on immigration charges' that is all that is proven. So would bill legalize him?
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Prosecutors want to send to Mexico a Lewisburg federal prison inmate who allegedly confessed to killing at least ten women near Ciudad Juarez "as 'offerings to Satan.'"
The US Attorney's Office in Harrisburg yesterday asked a federal judge to extradite Jose Francisco Granados de la Paz.
He's accused of the June 2001 slaying in Ciudad Juarez of a 17-year-old women who had been stabbed in the heart and dumped in a canal.
Granados de la Paz is a 29-year-old Mexican citizen currently jailed on immigration charges.
He allegedly confessed last year to Texas Rangers and Mexican investigators to killing at least 10 women from about 1993 until last year."
I'm not sure, having read the bill, if he would be turned down for legalization. Remember, the killings at this point are only 'alleged'.

No, his butt should be sent back to Mexico.I live here in El Paso, the truth is these murders have never been solved and remain a mystery..Many men were jailed and convicted in Mexico, but the murders continued for years.Many detectives and FBI pro-filers went to Juarez to try to find the real murder/murders and never solved these crimes.

Well the question is now mute. The senate killed the bill today.That is the FIRST good thing either party in the senate has done for over a year.His murders are not "Alleged". Did you not say he confessed to Texas Rangers & investigoters From Mexico? Sounds to me like he is bragging. He probaly knows that with a good lawyer & all the appeals , it will be years before he goes back to Mexico.Yes I believe he would be turned down & sent back. But The problem is, would Mexico convict him or turn him loose so he can come back here. That is the question.
I am not sure if the bill would legalize him or not. They voted against the bill regarding gang members, and other criminals, (including those who had been given a letter of deportation) however they then went and voted on - or brought up (as of yesterday it was on consideration according to the bill link below) an ammendment to still not allow gang members, and other types of criminals including but not limited to sex offenders and other major crimes, so if I read that right (yes it's possible I didn't, LOL) then he would still not qualify to become legalized.
Yesterday when I read it, it was listed as one of the things voted on/brought to the floor on 6/5/07 today I went to get the actual link to it, but they are all condensed, but it is in there - I just dont know the number to pull it up

Under this new bill illegals would be approved in a 24 hour criminal check. Why is it that people who immigrate legally have to wait weeks/months for a criminal records check from their home country and/or an FBI check to go through?
Why should it even be a question in anyone's simple little mind about the possibility of allowing criminals and/or gang members including sex offenders etc to immigrate, especially if they are showing their continued proclivity to criminal acts by being in the country illegally?
