How do I become a Japanese Citizen.?
Also I want to know how I will be treated or looked upon by the general population. I have heard mixing rumors. Some say that they will act kind to your face but not really respect you, while others say that they will be open about not accepting you. Then there are those that say they are perfectly fine with it, as well as those that say they actuially like it. I am very confused on this matter. Not that saying anything will change my mind. I think they have the best current world government. I would like to know the easiest way to integrate myself into there society.
Answer:
Japanese coming of age is 21. If you want to become a Japanese citizen be aware you will have to renounce all other citizenships (say goodbye to the USA).
I suggest you go for a visit and see what it's like before saying you want to move there.
can you speak japanese without an accent ? probably not i guess . This will be difficult . here in north america everybody came from somwhere else - we are used to different nationalities.
Not in japan .
forget it.
they will never accept any one who is not 100% Japanese.
do you even speak the language ?
I think the first thing you should do is to go visit Japan and apply to be a resident and then to be a citizen. I think they probably have rules and requirements just like over here, so you might have to go to the immigration office over there or visit their website and get more info from them or ask a lawyer that have knowledge on this.
Japan copies and often improves, but the West invents.
I think you should go for a visit before you make a big decision like moving at such a young age. My son also would like to move there but he has never even been there for a visit. He did live in Hawaii for a few years and speaks a bit of Japanese. It is not easy to be a newcomer in a strange new place, I know I live in Budapest,Hungary part-time and mostly itis interesting but sometimes it is lonley to be a stranger. It would be easier if you knew someone over there who could show you the ropes. Good luck,it is great to travel but don't get to caught up in a new place before you know more about it.
