UK they allegedly must wear abaya's but they seem to have forgotten they must not work or drive

In general Saudis are Hypocrites. They are the biggest
joke of the century when it comes to applying their so called
Sharia or (Islamic law).
They do not treat Muslims from other nations as Muslims at all
they call them"KAFIR" meaning non believers of Islamic faith.
The ruling family does not allow their daughters to be married
to anyone else but only men from their royal family.
Those men may have their own harem of rainbow girls from all over the world.
Liquor is banned but the royals smuggle
liquor to their door steps in millions of bottles direct from ship to their bunglows without customs inspection.
They have minimum 4 wives and all of them live under the same roof and have 20 to 30 children.
Saudis worship Allah but next comes the Americans followed
by the Britishers. They enforce the law strictly upon people from the poorer countries of the world but they do not follow
the same law for citizens of USA and UK.
They want their females to wear Abyss (covering the face and body) but they want to watch other females in mini skirts
and may even touch and mingle with them but they forbid the same with their females.
same goes for any religion, anytime, anywhere

Heck, as a Christian, according to the Bible it's a sin to wear clothes that aren't made of cotton.

Perhaps they have no idea about the largest Muslim nation- Indonesia where women love to wear make up- a veil is considered as dork-wear
and dress in very veyr very tight and or skimpy clothing.
Women drive or ride motorbikes. Sometimes sitting side-saddle to flash their legs, when they are a passenger.
In Indonesia- my friend in Jakarta has a servant who owns a little shop- right in front of a mosque- which sells wine and whisky to passing motorcyclists as well as underage kids.
Kasirun- the gardener is a Muslim- but thoroughly enjoys a decent shot of whisky with his smokes.
Pick and mix- absolutely.

it is not like every Christian, every Buddhist, every Hindu folows their religion 100%. I am a muslimah and i do not wear a hijab or abaaya. And no where in our religion does it say we can not work or drive. that is just a radical islamist point of view on the debated topic of women's rights. in islam women are allowed to work and be independent and make their own money. it doesnt say anything about driving.because there werent any cars back then...
of course they're choosing what to use and what to ignore, it's convenient and there's always an excuse for everything if you blame your religion and anyone who dares to say otherwise is accused of something, it's perfect to use and do what you like. not just muslims though - every religion does it. muslims just have more to go on than most.
A bad thing about Islamic countries is that they never sort out their own problems, even when the country is going pear shaped.
When another country is forced to sort it, they are branded "anti-Islamic" whatever that means. I don't think that there are two muslims who will agree with each other on the interpretation of the Koran.

and where exactly in "their religion" does it say that women MUST NOT work or drive?! not cause Saudi Arabia does something it's automatically linked to the religion they practice. many Laws in saudi arabia are influenced by their old traditions not their religion.

People of all religions bend the rules to suit their lifestyles not just Muslims. The bible says people should not make graven images of anything in heaven or on earth yet in the catholic church it is full of such imagery and objects, even as a christian if you wear jewelery with a dolphin on it its still going against that teaching.
In Buddhism the cause of all evil is desire, so essentially if you are a Buddhist you should free yourself from any form of desire. Yet do you truly believe especially in the western world that western Buddhists refrain from desire?
We are all quick to criticise Islam but the truth is every religion and faith on earth suffers from man practicing it how they like. When it comes to holy books like the Torah, Bible or Quran then men also pick and choose verses and what they like out of it for their own agenda without understanding the full context it was written in.
Going by some of the replies, there is not a lot of Christian charity in Islam.
I do not believe that it says anywhere in the Koran that woman are not allowed to drive motor cars.
It does, however say that they should dress modestly. It does not say that they should dress up to look like the tents they live in.
The prophet does say however that he wrote the Koran in Arabic so that 'even the desert arabs would understand it'. He obviously thought that the desert arabs were stupid.
Nothing changes.

the hypocrisy of a belief in a god is precisely as you have identified - religion and those who buy and sell it are believers that they are right and others are lost or simply wrong. I am yet to meet a follower of a religious belief who does not pick and choose from the ideology to suit their own personality. The Saudi interpretation of islam is crticised throughout the other islamic nations and each country has a version of their own. The only thing about islam, christianity, judaism, hinduism and the rest of them which they have in common is tyranny. That is the one over-riding principle which governs the self-righteous.
