If he's here legally why would they deport him? But I will tell you as a habitual Offender he is looking at 3 years in jail at the very least and it could be as high as 10. Get a lawyer, do not let a public defender handle this.

Hmmm, my husband is a legal resident, I know for a fact, if he committed such a crime, he would be deported.Your boyfriend is lucky to still be in this country, I wouldn't be crying if I were you.One word of advice, get another boyfriend, he is a loser.
If your boyfriend has a jail sentence that is longer than one year, most likely he will get deported even though he is here legally. I made an unfortunate mistake in my life, but don't regret it because my son was a result of it, but his father was a permanent resident of the US from the Dominican Republic. To try to make some more money to send home to his family, the genius decided to sell drugs and was caught the first time! Anyway, it was a large amount and the courts were seeking 7 years, the lawyer pleaded him down to 2, at which time he left the country because he was told that in most cases, unless he slips through the cracks, criminals that are not US citizens are deported after one year so as not to use the taxpayers money. It's a good idea if you ask me, why would we want to pay for criminals from another country when we have our own?
I don't agree with alot of people's opinions on immigration here, but I definitely think that if the person is a criminal and unproductive member of society they have no right to be here and are perpetuating the stereotypes that people have of immigrants.
Try using periods (.) after you finish a sentence. First of all, if your boyfriend is here legally, he can't be deported. Second, he sounds like a loser and I don't feel sorry for him. Third, anti-immigration has nothing to do with racism. If that was the case then my butt would have been sent right back to Cuba years ago. The real reason everyone is so uptight about immigration is that people have been coming here illegally (um, you do *KNOW* there is a federal law against illegal immigration, right?)

You lost any support on my end with habitual offender legal or not. That's not a mistake,a mistake is something you do once and hopefully learn from. Obviously he hasn't learned a thing and obviously doesn't care about consequences. I hope he does jail time and gets deported.
