Why Do Mexicans treat the immigration issue as a race issue?
Answer:
Because we been discriminated the most.and because of the lack of knowledge the white American have, they don't know how to distinct from Mexicans to Cubans and Puerto Ricans etc.etc they just call everyone with brown skin Mexican. And if Americans want to get all Illegal people out of USA they should start by getting all those Muslims out of here. Because that's whats really affecting our country
psssssssssssit -- it's about the LAW, they forget what they are doing is illegal -- so if they can get us to belive its racial,
you bleeding heart liberals will help them out --- they are breakin the LAW, dummie. I hope you are sterile so you will not have anjy offspring I have to support.
Because you talk about them as if they are a race. Why don't you refer to them as Spanish speaking immigrants or even better.just plain immigrants.
They don't separate themselves.you do.
Okay, wait so my state INDIANA was Mexican? Or was it INDIAN? I am confused? So my great great great grandparents actually stole this from Mexico not had my other Scotch Irish ancestors steal it from them?
Mexican citisens who travel to the usa to work and live are considered by real Mexicans to be traitors and outcasts. They are called coconuts... brown on the outside and white on the inside
Because if they play the "race card" people will be walking on egg shells and they can accomplish their Mexican agenda. This is our land now. If the Mexicans really wanted "their" land back, why not go after Spain and all the land the conquistadors took.
No wonder this country is so f*cked up.
Listen, it's not the Mexicans land nor is it the Indians land. It's called the United States of America. I'm sure you want this country to turn into Mexico or maybe you want to go back to living in tee pee's doing rain dances? Give me a break! I'm proud of my country and those who formed it.
Mexicans where the first one here! They shouldnt even be kick out in the first place!
It's an easy justification for any "minority" group to call racism. They have no logical argument for why they should be allowed to break the laws and enter this country illegally. No one who used the proper channels should have any complaints. America is not closing the the door on immigration, only punishing those who choose to ignore the rules and enter the country against the illegally.
I personally am tired of hearing the race card every time someone wants to break the rules and can't figure out a real reason to do so. Racism is a touchy subject and is glorified each and every time someone wants to accuse someone else of it. It's easy to play that card whenever you don't get along with someone of a different creed. I think people should stop crying wolf and start working hard for the things they want in life.
It not a fact of seperation due to race its a fact of racism in their eyes you are right it not about racism cause most people agree with them I don't understand why it is a race thing but it is about equal right to everyone doesn't it say Life,Liberity, and the persuit of Happiness to all
Playing the racist card is the last act of a lost argument. Kind of like sticking your tongue out at someone.
Those Mexicans or Chicanos (Mexican-Americans) who side with groups like La Raza are supporting its racist views. As an American, I am disturbed La Raza and the movement to succeed the southwest from the US. Those states are ours, they belong to all Americans, including immigrants from Mexico. I know Mexicans who resent La Raza and the Chicanos who support their vision.
True, our southwest belonged to Mexico, and yes, we did force them under duress to surrender that territory in 1848. But Mexico was an empire, its regime founded under French occupation, at the direction of Napoleon. Mexico was not a democracy, and many supported the founding of the Republic of Texas, because they sought a haven from their dictatorial regime.
If this is a moot point, then so is their claim to our southwestern states, which are sovereign member of the USA.
sinful pride. This country was founded on immigrants, but those immigrants wanted to assimilate. Oh, and this land didn't belong to them, it belongs to noone, we (and they) only live here. And it was the Indians who had the most right to it before Europe and Mexico (and Mexicans are the decendants of Spanish settlers, that's why they speak Spanish (or Mexican, which is a broken form of Spanish, sort of like our english is a broken form of traditional English). The spanards killed off the Aztecs; Mexicans are not decendants of the indians).
The part of the U.S. that belonged to Mexico was sold to the U.S. by Spain., with the exception of Texas, which was won at the battle of San Jacinto (and Texas was its own nation before joining the U.S.) This doesnt include Indiana. Indiana was it's own territory and east of the Louisianna Purchase (which was east of the Spain owned territory). If you bought some land, would you be so kind to the seller if they just wanted to move back onto it
Mexicans seem to want to remain individuals.
America is a melting pot. You can't expect to come here and retain all your heritage and expect people to conform to yours.
The European immigrants didn't expect to be taught in their language, have ballots in their language, and have the National Anthem sung in their language. They learned english and assimilated themselves which enabled them to build a better life and become part of the country, not a country within itself.
because many people are indeed racist1 i am A CITIZEN! And yet i am being told to go back to my Country!!
America is a very racist Country...
Think about it.
I don't think that Mexicans are the ones who are making it a racial thing..I believe that the Americans are the ones who make it racial. When they talk of illegal immigration they synonymously use the word Mexican. So unfortunately the Mexicans are the ones who are being singled out by the laws and of course the wall being built only on the southern border and not the northern one.
It only becomes a racial issue when people start with racial epithets..It shouldn't be about race, your right, it should be about the rule of law, but their is no denying their are some racist people who use this debate to attack Mexicans..The shoot to kill crowd want nothing more than to destroy, instead of finding a solution. You don't believe that is racist?
The last thing I want to do, is treat this like a racial issue.I wish it wasnt! But unfortunately, you will always have people like this and therefore, as a Hispanic, I must respond. If it were truly about the rule of law, I would certainly have more tolerance for people who are anti illegal immigration, for many have great points on the effects of illegal immigrants, but it all gets lost because of this culture war...
iam a mexican citisen i was born here and they discrimante me all the time. okay! its not true that Mexicans treat the immigration issue as a race issue . thats no true. see have u ever been told go back to africa u black girl havent u beed discrimanated iam sure u have or go back to jaimaca. mexican dont separate the problem is that they arent many jamaican americans so ur a very tiny person here. U seperate ur self. dont u understand how ur dad and ur grandpa came to work hard in this country thats why they separate u cause it sounds ur against them somewhat. IMMIGRANTS KEEP RUNNING THIS COUTRY THEY ALSO FORMED IT be proud to be from immigrants parents I AM love ur culture UR FORTUNATE because by 2025 1 in 4 people in this country will be hispanic descent and in some sates itas already half or more hispanic for example CALIFORNIA TEXAS ill stop there
Part of California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas, yes was part of Mexico hundreds of years ago. But now it belongs to America and is not there country. ppl like you need to understand that and understand that illegal is illegal no matter how you word it. I'm sure your first generation came here and did it LEGALLY! This has nothing to do with racism and anyone who thinks it does is an IDIOT!
They have NO real argument.
They know that they are wrong.
This WAS their land - NOT ANY LONGER. Why is that concept so hard for you to grasp? We do not owe illegal Mexicans, Hispanics ANYTHING.
This land used to belong to the Native Americans as well, and that, is the difference.. Native American and Mexican are two different words - Native Americans live on a reservation.
We are a nation of laws - if you can't respect them, get out.
The illegals and pro-illegal supporters make it a racial issue because there really is no valid reasoning as to why they should be allowed to remain.
Americans don't hate illegals, they want them out of their country. Illegals are attempting to take a prosperpous, democratic country that they didn't found, build, or maintain. The concept of the United States is not Mexican in origin.
Employers are breaking the law when they hire illegal aliens. What about the word illegal is so hard to understand.
The illegals are here to take what they did not build in their own country. In the United States they will take and take until we stop them and send them home. We have to ask ourselves can we accept an occupation by those who cannot obtain legally what they want. Do we allow them to take what Americans built and turn it into a third world cesspool like Mexico. So we allow them to ignore and break our laws and murder and impoverish us in their illegal taking?
Here's an example of the illegal use of illegals: I know the construction business in Arizona. Illegals help make the profit margin just a little sweeter per unit. Developers and Contractors are not interested in working conditions, benefits, pay scale. The job sites can be dangerous and there are murders and deaths that go under-reported. The illegals are being exploited. What about the word exploitation is so hard to understand?
Here's the solution--more site inspectors, more Americans employed and the developers run home to California with a little less profit. Illegals barred from American jobs and sponging off the welfare system and sent home. Americans need jobs in every sector.
HIRE AMERICAN!!!
P.Dub4L - I respect what you had to say, and understood it to a point. But I am hoping that you will take this opportunity to read this article and possibly start to question your decision to be "Down with Mexicans 100%" because your question asked why do Mexicans treat the immigration issue as a "race" issue? And although I do find this to be true, I also wonder if the black community TRULY understands that there exists certain Mexican mobs, gangs, & organizations that not only want to anhialate EVERY other culture BUT the Latinos, but that some specifically target the black community directly. Please look at this link and see that you as a black person should become aware that the black community is at a very high risk of hatred and discrimination by certain Mexican groups. I would hope to God that you wouldn't be "down" with this kind of mentality. Please read the article. http://www.minutemanproject.com/newsmana...
