Well, looks like the amnesty bill is dead (good) so what do you think's gonna happen now?
Answer:
I hope they start enforcing existing laws and get their AZZEZ moving on the fence!
nothing, except more mexicans
Time for you to start packing your bags because ICE will be knocking on your door soon.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!
I can't answer that right now.I want to finish my celebration(it doesn't happen that often when it comes to politics in this country)
if we're wise, everyone who defeated this will never drop their guard again
those who think calling congress doesnt matter learned an important lesson
i called many times, encouraged others to do so, and this victory is PART MINE!!!
WOO HOO!!!!
If they are smart they will rework the bill to secure the borders, enforce the laws on the books and deal with legal immigrants and move on.
You are right Bob..I wrote many times too.
they will wait til no ones paying attention and slip it thru quietly.
Street protests.
I honestly don't know what will happen now, but I do know that we have to keep up the pressure and don't let up. Make them know that we won't stand for amnesty. They will have to start listening to us and secure the border.
Hopefully all of us who put the pressure on can keep the pressure on to enforce our laws, look what we can acomplish! I say don't relax yet, relax when we see deportations and a real fence. Keep calling daily and emailing and let them know that just because the amnesty bill is toast,we still want more.
Perhaps American businesses are going to go back to exploiting the labors of illegals to make more money.
its a disgusting shame.what a bunch of fools theses politicians are.i am an immigranti dont care if the bill passed or not what about securing the border its a joke!its a gaping hole every one gonna storm in between now and next year when it comes back on the senate floor.thats a national security threat right there and instaed of doing their jobs and stop playing politics with the lives of the citizens of this country they decide to ignore what cleary needs to be addresses which is a way to limit people from entering here illegally for the sake of national security.no playing politics and favoring party lines is more important i suppose.what a disgusting shame .
am gonna go throw up am sick to my stomach!
If it fails, which I hope it does.
There won't be a bill till the next president, because we're getting too close to crunch time, and no one running for office wants their name next to an amnesty bill.
Ultimately all it takes is a president whom enforces the given laws and accentuates some them. I do think that fundamentally something will be comprimised to allow people to stay, but I don't think they should have any right to vote.have entitlements or use the federal funding.
We need to build pressure on latin america to wise-up politically.
Nothing... unless American citizens force Congress to get that fence built, cut off all illegal immigrant services, no more anchor babies allowed, start enforcing existing laws, penalize employers of illegals and round up those who are here illegally and ship them back to where they came from. Announce a date - January 1, 2008 - and tell the illegals that either they are out of our country by then, or there will be a bounty on their heads. The six month period allows them to sell their homes and get their affairs in order. After January 1st, any property owned by illegals in this country will be confisgated. After Jan 1st, American citizens who turn in illegals will receive a reward and that illegal will be banned from ever entering the USA again.
A simple policy that would pretty much take care of the deportation problem.
Who knows.like everything else.it's not over. Every single bill brought up has to be gone through with a fine tooth comb because I know bit by bit they are going to try and slip some rider in some other bill to open another loophole or pass a tiny part of this. They love to do that. And they must be watched closer than ever. It could be on something everyone really supports and that trade would be another sell-out. Big business wants it's cheap labor and there are other agendas people aren't going to be willing to drop so easily. We are going to have to continue to press on with official English and have that anchor baby loophole closed up tight and be on them like flies on doo-doo to get that fence built and our border secured. Definately press on with the real issues of legal immigration that needs to be fixed. This endless waiting and red tape because they're so overloaded needs to be fixed. All the business with stolen IDs and all needs to be fixed. Lord..there's tons of work to do to make sure this fiasco NEVER happens again.
We as Americans need to make the government do what they were supposed to do back in 1986. For one FINISH BUILDING THAT BORDER FENCE!
There was a list of things attached to the last amnesty that never got finished those should finally get done! Then move on to other issues.
Reid says he may bring it back if he can get the minority leader to agree to limit amendments. I think he is hoping with Bush back or more time, some votes can be swayed.
It will escalate from here. They only get more obnoxious.
Now we need to turn this new found power that we have found and demand that the current immigration laws be enforced.. This should motivate everyone to hammer your politicians until we see results in the area of enforcement. Where is our wall?
It isn't over so lets not rejoice in the streets yet.
nothing, it was a worthless debate. immigrants will still come. and those 12 million illegals will still be here.
On one of my questions I posted the names of the policitians
that voted for this amnesty bill. Now we need to vote them out
of office to show them that our voices DO count.
Many of my answers to this subject has also been to call
mail, email your Senators and Representatives and tell them
to vote no or we vote you out. I plan on keeping my promise.
